    Steve/Keith,

As soon as either of you know when it is approaching Denver let us all know and I will also try to see if I can catch it along with you.

I guess it got to Lampasas today. I wonder if they will stop in Brownwood tomorrow. If they keep the same pace they would be able to make Sweetwater on Saturday and maybe make Lubbock Sunday. At this rate they will be in Pueblo a week from tomorrow and head up the joint line over the weekend.

Will probably make Brownwood tonight. It went through Goldthwaite around noon. That is about half way.

They "blew" on through Brownwood at 2:45pm. They say that they are going to try to tie up at Coleman if they can get that far before dark.
    Edit:
Nope only made it to a siding a little ways out of Brownwood between Bangs and Santa Anna. Must have hit some tight places and had to slow up a bit.

It was in Sweetwater by 3:17 PM. Don't know if it kept going or tied up for the night.

Any idea where the train tied up Saturday night??
And any clue as to where it may tie down for Sunday??
Hope it makes it here BEFORE the weekend of the 15th. I'm taking part in one of two train shows that weekend - Either GATS or a local Boy Scout show on Saturday only.
Any other time, I'll be ready and waiting. Making sure I have good batteries for the digital camera!!
Last time I thought all 3 sets of rechargable were ready, NOT one set was any good, or barely good. Had to buy regular batteries instead.

Unless something really strange happens it should be there well before the 15th at the rate it is going. I have not heard exactly where it stopped last night but it should be somewhere close to Lubbock tonight. Should be inching up the Joint line sometime around the weekend of the 8th.

It made it as far as Slaton, just south east of Lubbock, Sunday night.

Reports out of the Texas Pan Handle are sparse. However, it was through Lubbock around noon and projected to be through Plainview a little after 3:00. That would put it in easy range of Amarillo today and probably a little way beyond, unless it takes a while to navigate through town.

Was located in Amarillo yard at 5:00PM today. With daylight savings time they still have plenty of daylight so they could go another 30 miles if they decide to.

    Sunday Evening.
A pure guess on my part but I have been doing pretty good lately. I picked UNC and Baylor to win in the Final 4 pole in the Cattle Car. :D :D

So, IF I understand this right, the load will be IN Colorado by Friday/Saturday? With a final run nto Denver by Sunday?

I could use to know when train hits Pueblo. It's a 3+ hour drive for me. The Springs is about 2 hours, and maybe more worth my drive time.

I'd ike to catch this thing south of the Springs to start, but where I'm really wanting to see it, is rounding the curve at Palmer Lake. Going from the single track, back to double track from remainder of the trip to Denver.

Would love to make trip to Pueblo and follow train north from there. Thing is, I'd need to find a place to "camp out" for the night if I did that. Which for me, means finding a rest area and trying to sleep in truck!!

Going to make for a VERY interesting weekend, one way or another.

If it's Sunday it will be tough to catch it depending on the time of day it's here. If I get enough advance warning and not conflict with other Sunday plans I will have both Camera and Video in hand; likely in town. Can I assume it will come in along US85/SanatFe Drive?

No word yet where they stopped last night so I'm still hopeing for arrival in Denver by Sunday but I think I'm headding south on Sat to try to catch it in the sun. the only way it can head in to Denver is via the Joint line so US85/Santafe Drive will be the place.
Well lets hope the weather men are wrong again since they are predicting a blizzard on Sunday.

I can save you all a trip. Due to congestion North of Amarillo, the Schnable train will move aside for coal trains. Current ETA Denver is Thursday or Friday, April 14 or 15.

    Today's status

07-APR-05 – Train departed North Amarillo, TX 0830hrs – target destination – Guy, TX
