Well Booth is abuot 1000 miles from Denver as the car drives so it could take about what 72 hours of 15mph to get here so maybe next week it will make it to Denver? Hope I'm ready. Steve
i wouldn't hold my breath steve, i bet it will take until nearly tax day to get that thing there at the rate its going. especially going up from pueblo on.... just my guess. beast
Assume it continues to tie up every night like it has been. Then figure about 10 hours per day of travel time at 15 mph max, probably more like 12 mph avg. So that would mean about 120 miles each day, or delivery in 8-10 days...maybe. Then again, this is just a SWAG!
I wonder what kind of bill the shipper will be paying for this? The railroad ought to be making a nice profit from all of this effort! Boxcab E50
On of the links off that site took me to another site that has this photo by Tom Scotty as it passed through Pearland, Texas on 3/28/2005. This thing is just HUGE as you can see in all these great photographs people are taking.
It's true. This thing will not be comming to the Fort Worth area. Sorry bout that guys up there. Passed through Temple and is headed for Lampasas. Last report it was somehwere south of Killeen having passed through Nolanville.
According to a post by Charles Biel on Railspot, it was tied down last night in Cameron. Since it is mid-afternoon as I type this, unless there was a problem, one can assume it's on the road again. Wonder if this movement is at the bottom of the rung when it comes to trackage rights......
I wonder if BNSF, or the shipper has to pay extra for each crossing, both rail and road that is blocked for more than a specified amount of time?
Get on over to alt.binaries.pictures.rail for the Tom Scotty set. They were posted on the 29th so may still be on your news server.
The Tom Scotty image I posted is from his actual website: http://www.scottyonline.com/rail/CEBX800.html
Hey Bob, I was thinking you took off south to go chase that thing because you had been quiet here for a while. Oh well, don't you have an ailing relitive in Brownwood that you have to go visit tomorrow?
I just can't get over the size of this things as images just keep coming in from all these great Railfans tracking it along the route.
So, is this thing still slated for a Joint Line trip?? As I do not work Friday through Sunday, I'll be after this thing for photos, as long as it's still making the trip up the J/L at some point in time.
