U have to remember that the WMAX has a hodge podge of power that is in orginal paint but is marked for them. Here is another for u to think about for awhile.
We still have pictures here without any I.D. Anyone want venture a guess on the Gilbert locomotive. This isn't a photo shopped model it's the real deal.
Its around the swithcher that has Foster Farms on the side of it. Here is one from today a couple of deuces wring the local turn. Enjoy
This one is taken in Spanish Fork Canyon, between Thistle and Spanish Fork, Utah along the old D&RGW Mike
Well, if it said A. C. Gilbert, I'd get excited. Memories of American Flyer and Lionel from youth... Seems to me I recall, very vaguely, something mentioned on that operation being in California somewhere. But if I'm even warm, that's all I can guess. Boxcab E50
From what I could find, A.L Gilbert Co. Feed company in modesto, California. Also locations in Oakdale, Keyes, and Ceres CA. In business since 1892.
Right on the money. Nice call Keith. Yep, I thought with Gilbert on the side we'd attract some comments from the S Scale enthusiast. I thought Jim did a good job capturing this unit. Pretty good photo. Now the Army locomotive, I think is somewhere out in New Mexico. Unsure, myself on this one.
Mike, I believe this is correct. Jim said he was on the Provo side of Soldier Summit and the two diesels are standing by for helper service. Sounds like you pinned them down to the precise location. Nice work.
Ken, It is a Jordan Spreader. I'd post a picture of a M.O.W. snow train over Donner Pass except I'd have to delete it, due to it being copyrighted. The clue embedded in the above sentence was intentional as was the zinger. Grin! Seriously, I won't post any copyrighted pictures here on TB, without the written consent of the owner. This despite the fact it's been allowed here in the past. With regard to this thread I do have Jim's written permission. Now back to our regularly scheduled program and the picture in question. The spreader is now stored at______________. Which is not in California, but with a private group of museum type rail fans.
Readership and interest is up. Is it ever. Almost 200 interested parties have tuned in since this morning. Ie., Up from 1500 to 1711. Let's continue on. Keith, here's a couple I suspect you will pick off in a heartbeat. Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com
And one more. Now in my estimation this is not only a lucky shot but one with surprising composition. Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com
This is for Ken, Ken, Here's another hint. Sorry, I got lazy and in a hurry. This little guy is in the same town within a block or two of the spreader.
Your visits here are appreciated. Feel free to join in. Here we go. This is from one of my favorite rail fanning hot spots. If it wasn't so far to go from here, the hot springs would feel awfully good. Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com
All of them but two are from the same state. Well if you like tree's and the Coulmbia you will like it there plus no sales tax. Here is one from today found 2 patched CNW dash 9's here is one of them.
This one looks like Leyden Siding on the Moffat. Just south of the intersection of Hwy 72/Indiana. Second one, looks like it could be about a 1/2 mile west of Rollins. Where road crosses under main line for the first time. Eastbound, loaded coal train.
Keith, You nailed it. Funny, but you've got me guessing as I'm not sure where the locations are that you identified. Shows how much I don't know about the area. Thanks for throwing in here.
Well, I have been looking, and thinking, and... I cannot pull it from memory, except to say it looks familiar. Rats. Boxcab E50
Dig deep into Southern Pacific when the line was moved from Weed, CA to Klamath Falls through Chelmut then south to Euguene. Well the line that was abondended turned into a small rr that runs logs out of OR into CA or south to Eugune.
