Here is one for our NS fans. Wherezit? Where's Jim157? - RailImages.com It's not in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona or California. Here's a question for you: Is the NS unit foreign power or is it running on it's home rails?
close enough on the arch actuall it is Wilson's Arch abt 30 miles south of Moab on 191 by a place Called Hole in the Rock.
Due to the lack of clues this is tougher then most. For those musicians out there here is a hint. The location rhymes or sounds like... Kimball the manufacturer of pianos and other fine instruments. The state is not on the eastern side of the U.S. of A. but sets all but... dead center of the Union, on the western edge of the mid-west or heartland. They grow lot's of corn, soy beans and cattle. It isn't likely, the NS unit is on home rails. Odd but from my perspective the location is in the heart of the Old West not in the midwest... as we Natives of California see things. Any takers?
This location doesn't have much in the way of clues. Three more hints. On the west end of the state. This is not at but near the world's smallest (miniature) Wild West Show, a 20,000 piece replica of Buffalo Bill's famous show, in the home state of one UP's well known classification yards at North Platte. I will give it the rest of the day to see what happens and then we will move on. This is supposed to be fun and not work I had to get out my Atlas to dig for those clues...grin! Truth is there is little to identify the actual location. I can get you close, just not close enough. Got's an idea and should of thought of this sooner....let's see what google produces? Gosh!
Ok, a google search reveals. Home of the The Western Nebraska Observer, Plains Historical Museum and the Caboose Park.
No google? There's a real man among us...grin! The thing is there are rail fans in Nebraska, who more then likely would take a look at this location and identify it. Just by being familiar with the landscape and the farm impliment buildings in the background. Time to I.D. the location. It is near Kimbel, Nebraska. Stay tuned for more of Jim's Pic's.
Jim, Yeah, they are. I hope this isn't another scene where they are only pulling two freight cars. Underpowered? I don' think so. No clues on this one. Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com Let the flags fly!
drn rick thats a good 1, but oh well did u get the pic i sent u last night? That darn traffic on the 15 is murder on sunday commning out of Vegas into the Inland Empire. Kinda stinks getting up at 2 a.m. just to deliever down here. Its real lonely out there on the Mojave at that time in the morning......
Jim, I got it and it's next. Unless you want me to post it sooner. Grin! Gosh, Jim I don't envy you fighting weekend traffic coming out of Vegas. I've worked the freeway starting at the top of Cajon Pass and halfway to Barstow. It's not a pretty picture at times. Even the roads to Arizona and back can be just as bad. I know we California types are supposed to be boycotting Arizona, but you can bet that's just a small minority. Got any clues for the last picture of the UP about to cross a dry wash? Or was that last comment about Las Vegas a hint? Humm? Great shot and superb capture of the storm about to break.
BNSF On The Run Here you go and it turned out real fine. A BNSF frosty! I think we are loosing our audience. The last two units are in one of my favorite BNSF paint scheme. I like the first unit up front as it still has the cigar band on the nose. I don't like the gawdy striping on the unit. Where is Jim157 - RailImages.com That's better.
