    Nice Catch

Yep, but I think the signs is just north of or outside of Hanford, if memory serves me correctly.

Yahoo, search. Now that's knowing how to get around your computer.

On the sign, to the right, it says Hwy., "99" and I thought that would be a dead give away.

    Where is Jim? - RailImages.com[IMG]

    This may be to easy.

Here's a hint, this is near where the old Alray siding used to be. It appears to of been reopened.

Now keep in mind the photos shared here aren't meant to be professional.

Dang, Jim this one turned out good. You shooting with old Kodachrome? Grin!

Jump in and give it a holler. Your guess is as good as anybody else's.

I know, I know, pick me, pick me. Oh, that isn't fair the rules say I can't play. $#@!& No fun being middle management.

Another hint to the wrap around train.

After leaving this location to climb to the summit...both the UP and BNSF, goes through my nick's name sake to get to...well...Jims hint.

We overlooked this one. Here's a hint. There are two major passes in Southern California, and this is one of them. Which one? Hint: The hill.

    Jim,

How about, Soldier Summit? Ahh, Pacheco Pass...that's it?

A mountain pass for sure. It's not in a territory I'm familiar with.

Well, that makes it easy. It's White Pass up in...... No? Okay. Further south then, I'll try Tehachapi.

    LOL

Charlie is just toying with us. But, he is right... both UP and BNSF do go through Tehachapi and out to Barstow on what is now joint trackage, from Mojave to Barstow, Ca., on the old AT&SF.

    Think Colton Cutoff.

    :pcool:

If you are reading this and not participating Charlie, Jim and I have given you examples of the fun we can have here. So, feel free to drop in and throw some wild guesses around.

    Wherezit?

When I first looked at this picture I thought it was Tehachapi. However, the mountain in the foreground is not at all like the ridges around the big "T". Then it dawned on me. This is either San Gorgonio or San Jacinto.

Let's see if you can take it from here. Some of our Southern California boys and girls should be able to spot this location.:pcute:
The first unit looking left to right is a ex CNW, Life Saver unit or better said, the second unit in the "Lash-up". A "Consist" applies to a passenger train and it's consist of passenger cars. Maybe, we can throw in a passenger train.... a bit later. Grin!
