I have been busy on the mountain top.I got it dry and then plaster cloth and then mud. so its been like 24 hours and it feels dry. I guess its ready to take outside and sand it real good. I am using the hand sander on the lower parts of the layout i can't take outside. Its gonna be a mess one way or another with the dust off the plaster. Have a couple of shots of the fun and games.

I haven't felt the best so i haven't done much. The top of the mountain is pretty much done but the mountains on the board is in need of reshaping to fit together. I may have a bit of work on the lid too. Right now the sinus is bad here in this part of the country. We haven't had much of any kind of rain. The ground is for any other name dead. the grass is gone and the ground here is pretty much bare earth. So far this month we haven had any rain at all. The winds blow and we have red flag and fire watches in affect along with high wind watches. even with me tape the windows it still howls at me and will move the curtain a bit too. I can tell the winds are playing around because the filters are getting dirty for the computer.
ok, that said i have a couple of shots for you of the "fun" on this part of the layout. I did get the electrical working for the turnouts and the track too. All the feeders are soldered in and so far it works. Shots below, Smokey

I have been having a hard time getting the alignment right with the lid and the rest of the mountain. Sand, fill ect!! Everything seems to fit now, so its time to start paint and grass the area. Got one sand area to do and i can do just that. shots below. I am using the camera in the phone right now as the memory stick in the camera has developed a crack in it and i am having a bit of a time finding another san disc ultra. I have found it, ordered and should get here in a week or so.

I am a bit surprised that you are having trouble finding that memory card. That is a very popular brand. I always buy their stuff for camera, phone and computer storage use. Walmart, Target, Amazon, and more should have it. Even available from Sandisk themselves. Hope you can find one soon!

Its a San Disk brand but a 20 year old camera used something that is out of date now. I hit Walmart, Best buy and Office Max. None had that chip. in store or at a warehouse somewhere. I am keeping a eye out on Ebay for a chance to find one there. Amazon didn't have one so Ebay is the one that may come up with one.
I got all the painting finished and it looks like that old mountain i attached to. Once i have some greenery attached and shrubs it will look a lot better. I have shots below.
I can't remember if i told ya all or not that i am having surgery on the left hand. it will be mid January and i won't be able to do much of anything after for around 2 months. Can't lift more than a 12 oz. can of soda. Not gonna be fun for awhile but it will be better when it heals. I plan to get as much done as i can, order what i can to have it built up or mounted on the layout. With that left hand i will have a cast on it so i will have to see how this goes. I guess thats all the updates. I will take more pictures with my tablet as i go to show the fun. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving ours was fine. Deb cooked up several deserts and of course the main dinner. We are still eating leftovers! later all, Smokey

Hey Smoke, can you post a picture of that memory card? Is it square (vs. rectangle like today's SD card)? If it is, it's mostly a Compact Flash card. Very hard to find now a days but were pretty common in the 2000's, which is about 20 years ago.

Have a feeling you are looking for ....

.... the larger SD card like on the left above. Very common for cameras that are now some years old.

Can't be SD cards as they are still commonly used in cameras now a days. Almost all use them.

Working on grasses and brushes. I kinda have to wait till i have the fire tower so i can figure out where it should go and the log cabin for there home I would still like to put some kind of creek on the lower track area.
