I am going to try and do some with rows of boards on the top, and remove some here and there. I saw a cool video of some like that near the end of the beet trains life. I'll see if I can find it.
Here it is..... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGtBuRf0TbM&feature=channel"]YouTube - Sugar Beet Train part 2[/ame]
One of the things I was thinking about today was weather or not to add the end reporting marks to the beet cars. I don't have anything that small. On the SP cars I just heavily weathered the ends, but thought that was kinda cheating. Well, then today at work I spot these cars. UP cars, with SP lettering.....
That's one of those rare Micro Trains mis-prints . Too bad it's been taken out of it's original packaging.
It's hard to see the ends on these anyways, and they will not be switched, as they will always run as a loaded unit train.
I got a couple more beet cars done....this time, the MT cars. These come with a 'woodchip' load, but it is easily removed and a Beet load easily added.
These are slightly higher then the IM cars, buts thats OK. They still look good together and adds a little more variety.
Here's a run-by with 27 done. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4dnG2T5C0o&feature=channel_page"]YouTube - N Models 921[/ame]
Looking at the video again, I would say that is an aggressive 40mph speed. Hey, if the Conductors OK with it....let um roll!
They got to get that shipment to the plant for processing. They don't want a pile of mush...no money in that. Gosh, that looked good. Saw a surfer riding the waves...must be 10 foot swells. Kidding of course. As always...nice work Jerry.
Nice work as always Jerry. I also see you're using a different Helicopter charter - no more crash landings!:tb-biggrin:
40MPH is a pretty good clip. Back in the '80's I bet speeds were more of a guideline and not really strictly enforced, maybe? IIRC, pigtrains with new GP60M power exceeded the 70MPH limit on good track areas.
