I did a count tonight, and I have 29 beet cars. I need to finish 8 more to have a 29 car completed train. With all the different looking cars, it is going to be a very cool looking train, and bring back good memories. Enough typing....I have decals to set!
So have you detailed that beet car i gave you several years ago at that train show yet? Would love to see some pics of it:tb-wink:
Jerry, looking great and love the new "mixed" lettering concept, this will be a fun one to watch roll-by, now in the modified words of "Spaceballs- the movie:" "keep decaling a.....s! my best, Jan
Got three loaded tonight. As the loads dry, I manipulate the loads to make them look different. Pushing here and there, etc. The water on the back cars sides is from the faucet. As I drip the glue over the load, some runs over the sides, taking some seeds with it. Once the whole load is wet with the glue mixture, I take the car over to the sink and carefully run water over the sides to clean the glue and seeds off, careful not to add water to the inside. Then onto the towel to dry overnight.
Jerry, thanks for digging this thread back up--nice work! I especially liked the ones with missing boards... Did these beet racks get so beat up that the end was missing a row of boards, or the end was missing? Some extreme abuse, I'm sure, but it would look neat in that train!
Did you remove the "Southern Pacific" across the top or did you cover it up with weathering. Thanks. They really do look good.
