That shop must be swamped with orders. The shop's productivity is impressive and should keep SP's higher-ups happy Great work Jerry. In a way, I'm kind of jealous. How about a Tunnel Motor next?
This one got shopped a few weeks ago, and will go back in for a couple more detail parts, as well as a Kodachrome SD45T-2. I would like to get a 'snoot' tunnel motor and detail it up too.
The Bi-Centennial is going to get a nose light, relocated horn, top mounted bell, lift rings, sunshades, and wipers, and GE axle cables.
Was going to add BLMA MU hoses too, but on this model the hoses are very pronounced so I am just going to paint them on this model since there is the correct amount and this engine did not have a plow.
Here is the progress from this weekend so far. Lift rings added and painted. Horn relocated and bell mounted with airline. Walkways painted blue. Dropsteps painted brass, and MU Hoses painted. Holes for wipers drilled and will add wipers later. Headlight sides painted blue like prototype. Still need to add nose light and sunshades.
6800 is one of two U25B'E's the SP had, and did not have the top red light on cab like the other SP U25B's and other GE's.
Nose light freshly installed. Jewels installed and window maker filled in the gaps...still visible in this picture. It will dry clear. Marker lights also painted silver and covered with window maker.
Awesome work Jerry!! One question, how do you remove the horn? I have started detailing a Bloody U25.
Thanks for the info!! I started to pull up on it but I backed off. I'll give it another try:tb-biggrin:
Now that it is getting to be nice weather all the time, it will be nice to fire up the compressor and then I am going to add some exhaust to several engines. This one will get a little bit of chalk weathering too.
