Is anyone else having trouble picking up the video from Train Board here?

    Ken,

Looks like it's your turn for the internet to pick on you. I had nothing but problems and could of swore someone was sitting out on the pole pulling the wire loose just so he could here me rant. I still have problems from time to time. I had to switch over to Mozilla Firefox, download the newest version. Turnouted (used intentionally as in synonymously with "Switched" just to make a point) to a newer version of my security package and that was when things started to improve. About the same time, I mentioned something to you about the edit feature here functioning poorly. Whatever changes you fine folks made here... was all the difference in the world.:)

You Tube is acting up poorly for me. Not sure what gives but the rumor mill has something going on with the servers. Hoping everything works out for you.

One thing you can do is click on You Tube, it can be found in the frame of the video and it will take you directly to You Tube. Try clicking to see if the video starts up for you.

    Best of luck.

Well sure wish I could remember exactly what four letter word I'd used, which made things start working again this morning....

"Significant screwing around." I love it. This guy is REALLY good!

    The Gulf & Pacific Railroad

Just to show you there are other groups out there enjoying each other's layouts. The Bear Valley Model Railroaders, formed up a group, a non-club, no dues, no real rules but we kind of get fussy about who joins the group. We get together from time to time to work on each others layouts, trouble shoot and enjoy an occasional operations night.

In this next video Josta as you know him has invited the group over for a operations night. John A. aka Deaf John is behind the camera. He is our Dispatcher for the evening. Steve aka Run 8, is at the controls he is our Hog Head. Stubby aka TJE, is the acting Supervisor making sure all the rules are kept you'll see him standing next to Big Steve. Greg aka DGAS, is our railroad security agent, guarding the door and adding his two cents from time to time. Me aka MTR well I get to play switchman (not a turnoutman) and conductor and yes I'm in the Video. They don't call me a grey beard for no reason. I said with a mischievous look in my eyes and a very set jaw. COL

You will find us in the middle of making several switching moves (not turnouting moves) as we make up a train and get underway. You'll see me using modified hand signals to communicate with the hogger. As close to those used on by the Rails although certain space limitations restricts a full range motion.

John's layout takes us back to older times when a Common Rail or Wire was the in thing to do. It is a dual Cab A & B operation, point to point. There are some minor operations problems when operating two trains at one time but without a doubt this is the first common wire railroad I've seen, that runs all but...well... flawlessly. Yes I said that.

You may have seen this somewhere else but that's ok.

Considerations are on the table to converting over to DCC. Yes!

I wouldn't recommend Common Rail or Wire in today's world.

Glad to hear it's back up and running again.

I do like Toy Man's, take and presentations. Loads of fun.

So far, so good. At least this morning...

It's not just happening via TB. I can go directly onto the YT site itself, and there experience the same using several different computers. Which I hit yesterday, when I was searching for something else. :(

Yeah. His presentations are obviously done by someone with a real sense of humor, who is having a great time with life.

I decided to go down the local industry and watch the switch crew do a little pulling, pushing and shoving.

This is as close to watching someone switch a model railroad realistically, as any I've seen.

I didn't see anyone using hand signals, most likely a lone operator. Perhaps sometime here in the near future I can tell you about the two experiences I had visiting model railroad clubs in Dayton, Ohio. Some great guys and serious model railroading going on there.

Oh heck, had to wait for the glue to dry before I can lay some more track, my stomach was growling so blew the whistle and let the crew go to beans.

Here is a railfanning scene this will bring back memories of good times from the past.

I want to see this when he puts in some of the finishing touches. This should be as awesome if not more so then the original John Allen, Gorre & Daphetid.

    A very short switching move.

Let's see if you have the same reaction I do.

There must be a hidden electric magnet, in the railroad crossing to uncouple the train cars. One more:

From the for what it's worth department. Two shorts on the horn means the train will be making a forward move. To make a reverse move how many hoots, honks on the horn would the hogger make?

The interesting thing about what they are doing is: They are switching industries here much as a local would do. Once these moves are completed and most likely done from a switch list. They do a type of classifying as in, what empties and loads will continue on to the next switch job. I do like the switch moves this train crew is making. Salute.

Ken, Is everything good and you are able to see the YT video's? Looks like Internet Explorer, just undertook a makeover. Hopefully, everything will be good here in the near future.

Dave Vollmer and I have chatted back and forth a few times. Here is his N Scale Juanita Division Model Railroad. Sit back and railfan his stoves and the trains tied in behind them.

I heard the same thing and asked the same question. Can we see more?

I've seen some video of that MILW layout. The scenes are very recognizable. He's done quite a job of making it real.

I've watched other video's of this layout and was awe inspired by the way he uses the mountain scenes. Southern Pacific, through the Cascades. Further introductions can be found on You Tube and in this video.

    Enjoy!

Side Saddle railroading. Ever here of such a thing? A first for me. You'll get to see what I mean.

Here is a family of railfans. I don't mean the kind of fan that keeps you cool in the summer.

    Check this out.
