    That is a SWEET photo!
My layout is still under construction so nothing is on my mainline. When Chuck gets back from vacation, I'll get the stuff I ordered from him (Kato terminal joiners) and I'll get stuff done.

I just started the new layout in December so there's no scenery yet, but I can run trains. Right now there's a NYC E7 A&B pulling about a 22 car freight, a NYC 4-6-0 leading a short passenger train and a NYC 0-8-0 on a short way freight. There's also a N&W Y3 (it will eventually be an A&JB engine) ahead of about 20 freight cars.

I'll second that! Captured my imagination for a good 10 minute day dream, that's for sure.

As for what's on my mainline right now? Ballast. Lot's of it, and in all the wrong places >.<

    Back to work!

I have always got to be careful of what obstructions might be on the main...

Dodging catzilla, UP #8444 heads a mixed freight..

Well, my mainline is only 18" long right now, so what's on it is pretty short too: a pair of fresh looking GBRX Husky Stacks made from NScaleKits pewter and etched stainless steel kits (with added details, including brake rigging, end and side grabirons, etched brakewheels, cut levers, trainline hoses, body mounted MT 2004 couplers-the only kind I could get up to the proper level for these low-riders, MDC Husky Stack trucks with 33" FVM Atlas-length axles .553", these trucks had the highest bolsters of all and I still had to shim up the car by .020"). About a million decals per car.

And, oh yeah, I finally discovered the best use of MDC/Roundhouse Husky Stack bodies--carefully shave off the lift ears, glue them to the NSK car from which they are noticeably absent, and toss the rest of the car into the parts bin. The lift ears come off quite well with a bit of their plastic base, use the fat back end of a #11 blade.

Not too many pieces to an NSK Husky Stack kit, but it's still a long road to completion. Nice, heavy, great rolling cars, even empties.

Just arrived on the layout this morning and fresh out of the shop tonight wearing their new colors. The Boston and Maine owned the largest fleet of RDC's so it amazed me, when Kato first released them, that the B&M wasn't one of their chosen roads. Here they are earning their keep on their first mainline run carrying the Minuteman on their noses.

Passenger trains, and lots of them. The freights get relegated to the "branch" lines.

Some great pictures of cool trains on excellent layouts. You guys are making me jealous. I can't wait till my layout gets far enough along for some good pictures.

I don't remember the photo backdrop in that scene? Is this new or is my memory more like Marc's?

Well John, maybe you need to come over more often...:)
Here's another one of the same train, at Pine Lodge in the heart of Cajon.
    Regards, Otto
