One of the most popular ongoing threads of TrainBoard is "Whats on your workbench?" series. In both the Z, N, and HO scale workbench thread, everyone shares photos and a quick description of their workbench projects.

Well.. why not share whats on our Mainlines? So..

    What's on your Mainline?
    :D :D

Photos are encouraged and a description of the train orders if you have any. :)
    Let the fun begin!

The Life-Like DL-109 of the New Haven. Had it for years, but since it was DC I couldn't run it. Last week, I had it decodered. At last, this beast can run on my mainline!

An SP AC12 leased by the D&RJRR for trials. It has since been through the shops to receive proper lettering. Here we see it on a test run complete with a BAR dynamometer gathering data.

I love the idea for this thread! Brian, your trio of BN locos is making me nostalgic for my childhood, when I regularly saw cascade green.

Thanks. I grew up in Wyoming going back and forth between Cheyenne and Gillette so I grew up with either UP Armor Yellow or BN Cascade Green :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:

The prides of my fleet, ILSX SD40-2s 202 and 3109. It has been joined by SD40T-2 now. I've finished one GP39E and am almost done with the second (the H3). I'll have two more ILSX SD40-2s done later this summer, I just need to get the proper details for them.

Blast! I frequently mulled over a suitable thread of this nature. Never acted on it.
Well, at the moment on my mainline there is dust, bits of foam, a tool or two, and a lot of hope / inspiration. :)

    What's on my mainline?

    Debris !

Let me start be saying I am NOT making light of any recent tornado damage back east nor any tornado damage...ever! I grew up around em...I know the aftermath. I have seen whole towns completely wiped off the map. So once again...my heart goes out to those affected.

That said: I am in the process of fixing the ceiling in THE Train trailer. I removed all the buildings and important stuff before beginning repairs. I tore the ceiling panels down to repair the roof joists and find where the water is sneeking in. Everytime I go out there...open the door...step inside...and look to the left this is what I see:

I have seen real 'debris fields' in my 62 years. After the recent events in places like Alabama....THIS sends cold shivers up my body! I suppose I could vacume it all off and keep vacuming everytime I work out there but....the reminders by simple things like this...keep me grounded and thankful for where I live. It also makes me say a little prayer for those who could use them.

Just finished putting in the MT coupler conversions for the tender and the front pilot on a couple of Kato 2-8-2's.

Next up was an successful experiminet with Bull Frog Snot. 2 Mikes double headed pulling 66 cars on my NTrak module set from one end to the other. If I had more room to run, I would have added on more cars but I am not sure they would have taken very many more.

Next they will be pulled of the mains and returned to get shopped with decoder installations.

In thier place are a couple of LL Nerks, waiting BFS and mu testing. They already do have decoders installed.

On the test layout, you will always find a Hallmark ATSF Northern on the prowl. Working them out good before a decoder gets installed.

Sunday May 21 - nuttin to do but run trains day.....

Geesh, I got all my "to do's" done, and it is ridiculous hot and humid outdoors, and now nursing a slight sunburn, so I am indoors with trains to run.

I have a dual mainline, with 2 passing sidings, one each for each mainline, which I keep staged trains to switch out as I choose.

    On my mainlines are:
I set newly Purchased Lifelike E8A/B in Santa Fe warbonnet pulling a mixed western passenger consist (I have only a few SF cars at this time)

1 custom painted weathered D&H Kato Mike pulling a loaded coal hopper consist with a custom painted D&H MTL caboose

1 Model Power Mikado pulling a reefer consist of IM and MTL cool ones with a MTL caboose

1 Spectrum Consolidation (o/0/b) in C&O pulling a box car consist with a MTL caboose

I will probably change a couple of these by this afternoon to my articulateds waiting patiently on the shelf next to my layout.

Thank God for my cool cool air conditioner. It was a blazer this morning even at dawn watching the sun rise over the beach.
