I had the last operating session on the weekend. It consisted of running every train into Field from both staging yards, and clearing out every industrial track and back track on the layout. Then setting all the power into the diesel shops. This is a good time to take inventory, as every piece of rolling stock and locomotive I have is in 1 place and easy to count now. There is still a few clear tracks, so I guess I have room for more! Here are a few pictures of the congestion! The first part to come down was the begining and end of the layout, this is where the staging yards were. [ March 14, 2006, 05:41 PM: Message edited by: Mike Hagarty ]
Sad to see it go.. Were those Aspen Leaf D&RGW PA-1's? I think I spied the California Zephyr as well... The next layout should be a sweet chunk of railroad. Good luck!
Steve, Are you talking about the SD40-2's?? CP units in Action Red were notorious faders and one batch in particular were known as Pink Elephants. The thing about painting a CP unit in the Action Red scheme is never use the same paint mix for more than one unit!! The only units that really maintained their color consistently through the class were the 9000 series Red Barns. grant
Grant - I guess that is what I meant. Thanks! Good to know. (it occurs to me I may have asked this before. ooops. sorry about that)
