As I was posting a thread just now, all of a sudden it got fast. Bremner was probably rebooting the system. If that was the case, thanks guy.
im still having problems with it loading up . mornings its a no go, afternoon now my time 3:14 it was a tad slow loading but it loaded.....
It's still slow, with some spurts of fastness and then slows down again. Sometimes slow enough to have the "timed out" message.
Well... @bremner and colleagues... I do appreciate you guys providing this great forum for us all. So please do understand that even though we're complaining once in a while, we do love what your doing here. Matt
It's *slightly* faster on mobile, but it's so slow on my laptop (and nothing else is running slow) that it often times out before it updates the page. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Even the MS Edge browser gets impatient and displays a message stating that "Trainboard took too long to respond".
Since the certificate expired, have experienced significantly more latency + timeout issues regardless of platform - Win-Edge and Chrome, IOS - Safari, Edge and Chrome, Android-Edge and Chrome and Ubuntu-Mozilla and Chrome . The length of time that the issue(s) have been going on without official posting is a little unsettling. -Is the problem related to insufficient funds and or advertising revenues intended to offset the cost of web host? -Is the issue related between the backbone and the webhost server? If the current host can't resolve the latency issues, has any thought been given or action taken to move the TB pages to another host? -Are the admins, specifically the domain account owner + primary admin to the webhost, still interested in continuing TB? While not uncommon to renew domain name registration yearly, most "long term" websites engage in multi-year domain renewal and/or web hosting. TB domain 1 yr renewal expires in 3/25. If not, maybe there are TB users who are willing to pick up the ball rather than let TB die? -Does the site need "purging" of old data? -How will current advertisers who support TB feel about continuing promotion when fewer and fewer access the site's pages due to timeouts or just too slow? TB has been an invaluable resource to many over its long history and I thank the administrators for their time and hard work. It would be quite sad to see TB fade away without the possibility for continuation.
It's getting bad, even for me. Last evening it took me five minutes and several pokes at the button, just to get a "Like" to appear on a post... Then the next post I view everything is fine. The next after that, it all falls apart again. Try fumigation. Amen to that. There are a lot of good people taking care of this wonderful place, and good members making the board the great thing it is, and it would indeed be sad to see TB just fade into digital oblivion. I would miss it - and all of you - very, very much.
Today, it took about 30 seconds for the result after clicking on a "like" button. Yesterday, it took about 10 clicks to post a reply, and then it double posted.
Looks like this train is back on the main line. Some posts have disappeared during the migration to the new server.
