Bob, when you 'get down' like that your layout takes on a whole new level! Nothin' against the helicopter chase, but I really like these views of your layout.
Thanks Randy... There is no level track on the JJJ&E, so it's hard to get in close. These photo's were taken with the Helicon Focus software. Sometimes you can't get in close when the layout is all graded, hence the heliocopter views. The Helicon Focus software and my Nikon D-50 camera with a closeup lens makes all the difference. Stay cool and run steam.... [ March 03, 2006, 09:59 PM: Message edited by: Powersteamguy1790 ]
It's been a long time since we've had a Santa Fe moment (over a year!)...so here's a 991 train (Richmond CA to Chicago) hotshot crossing over itself at Tehachapi Loop in California in 1995. The C44-9W on the point is only about 1 year old, and the SD75M in the middle of the consist is only weeks old. Richmond is Santa Fe's yard in the Bay Area, and is one of the locations on Jerry DeBene's layout I believe -- right Jerry? This spot would be about 8 hrs or so of travel time from Richmond for a hot train like this.
Thats right Dave....and that trains going to get here quick at 79mph! I better tell the crew breaks over.
Don't sweat it Jerry - this is an eastbound 991 -- so it's headed to Randgust and then GoSteelers before it turns around and comes back to you...so you've got a little bit of time to get a crew together still (and get some scenery down) It's the 199's that you better be getting ready for!
I couldn't not submit a photo for my railroad of choice. Freight passing the Junction lead by ATSF #3283, a customized Kato Mikado. Those are 6-wheel tender trucks that don't show well. Ben
I know this is not a model but i thought it would be okay. Last friday i got to ride in an ATSF CF7  The picture above is what I got to ride in. It is at the Kentucky railroad museum. Alan
Jerry, That is right. She looked great and was great to ride. I went with a group from the nmra regional con And won 1 of two cab rides. The other was a Monan Bl2 but since I like ATSF the choice was easy for me. Alan
