Dave N started the SP Moment thread that I truely enjoy being an SP fan. Thank you Dave. But several months ago I started gathering ATSF engines and some rollking stock. I think it's the fact it no longer exists and the colors. So, any other ATSF fans out there. It's a race, ATSF SD40-2, C30-7, pair of SD26's and a pair of GP-30's race a trio of SP Tunnel motors to the top. [ April 27, 2005, 07:58 PM: Message edited by: sitchad ]
Great idea, Chad, nothing against the SP but I got tired of shooting SP locomotives with paint falling off of them in the 80's! This was my all-time favorite spot to watch trains: And a few model pics...
Sorry guys, the steam gods just MADE me do this. My favorite ATSF shot, at Railfair 99. I know, I know, I've posted it before.
Doofus, that is so mean....... Verne, that is a great picture, where did you take it? Allan, great picture. What is engine 6552 in the engine house? I didn't know they made those in N scale. Or was that a scratch built marvel?
Prairie on the prairie. This started out as an Atlas Rivarossi light Pacific with a frame that crumbled to dust. In building a new frame out of brass, I decided to make a few changes and this happened.
Looks like an old Lima shell. The mechanism under them was really poor so most folks later replaced them with a Kato SD somethinorother.
Excellent pics guys. I was going to submit a pic I have of an ex Santa Fe SD45 that sar leases but it's in bad shape. It's appearance would sully this fine post! EMD F45. One of my favourite cowl units. Body shell kits will be available for these sometime this year. grant
