Outstanding!!!! Being familiar with downtown Flagstaff, I felt as I was there...although I haven't been there in 5 years (on the Southwest Chief, of course). Your video really captures the feel of northern Arizona. I have a friend in Prescott Valley, AZ who has a Ntrak module with downtown Flagstaff on it.
Guess what I picked up today at the LHS . . . after a few laps around the layout, I'm very impressed. Matt got these right!! Smooth running, great paint and detail, good pullers...my only minor beef is that the ditch lights don't light up very bright, but I'm sure we'll figure out how to fix that. Way to go, Matt!!!
Yeah, this one looked pretty shabby already when I took the photo 7 years ago. And it was even painted for BNSF. However, GP-20s are about as modern as I go and they are pushing my era by quite a few years.
I may have posted this on weekend foto phun a couple weeks ago, but it is a Santa Fe moment-- without any motive power showing. Santa Fe Texas Chief crossing the causeway to enter "Karankawa" (my version of Galveston). showing off my new Kato diner and lounge, and including a motley collection of other more-or-less Santa Fe streamlined cars,
And Russ, you know I have nothing but respect for your adherence to prototype and era! And your modelling . . . .
Thanks. However, I can really appreciate the excellent new stuff coming out for all eras. And I must confess that I lied. I have a knack for winning raffles and door prizes at various train shows and conventions. So there are a few modern locomotives in my collection that get run on show layouts when I set up with other folks. And then there is this guy who is definitely too modern for my passenger trains.
