I have no idea how I missed this thread. Just about everything I fan has to do with varnish. Peirce, VRIC7, "Kitchi Gammi Club," seems to find its way onto almost every excursion I have been on in the last few years. Here's a vestibule shot of some old varnish trailing behind SP&S 700 and SP 4449 doubleheading eastbound in the Columbia gorge last July.

This isn't a good shot, but the Dover Harbor is one of the best riding (old, six wheel trucks) cars I have ever ridden on. Operated by the Washington, DC chapter, NRHS, this shot was on the 1993 New River Gorge trip. I have seen the car at the Grand Canyon in 2002, but riding it in 1993 was a great experience.
