Lets see your passenger trains! Whether they are Amtrak NEC bullets, Amtrak transcon trains, luxury domeliners, tourist outfit trains, or anything in between, let's see some varnish!

The Ski Train, resplendent in D&RGW colors, barrels thru Blue Mtn. Road's crossing, 20 miles from Denver:

I have a few shots of Amtrak, too, feel free to post away!

Amtrak #5, the California Zephyr, chugs thru Greeley, CO enroute to Salt Lake City, detouring over Sherman Hill, thanks to Moffat Route track work:

That shot was taken, while awaiting another set of varnish:

Sweet! How did you get that shot, and where? Near Silverton?

A friend and I had been back-packing along the continental divide and hiked down to the wye at Elk Park. We were waiting to flag a train back to Durango but it was morning and the two trains were still heading up to Silverton. So I climbed up the mountain a bit for a shot or two. A few days earlier we had got off the train at Needleton and headed up to the divide.

At one time this was a Nickle Plate Road diner. Some friends in Roanoke, VA picked it up at auction when NS dumped their MOW crew cars. I believe the Nickle Plate Historical Society traded them another car for it.
