Jerry, I use EZ-Line and learned how to install it so it ends up with a decent looking catenary between poles. It has to be installed with lots of slack, almost touching the ground when it's glued to the insulators. It will shrink over the next 24~ hours and end up with a realistic catenary droop. It took me a couple of times of ripping it out before I got the initial amount of slack correct. BTW, it's great stuff...I have a high line across the front of a circuit breaker panel. Whenever I have to open the door, the line stretches way out with the door edge. Then when the door is closed, the line goes right back to its normal catenary....love the stuff!
Tonight I spent 2hrs cleaning in the garage and getting things on a new shelf system. I found stuff I forgot I had, and also things I had bought 3 and 4 times! Now a quick glance and I know what I have and what I need. And right now it looks like I need more shelfs.......LOL
I'll second that Jerry. I just tore down some shelves over the last three weeks to move under the layout. and the stuff I found and forgot that I had, wow!
I was getting into the habit of buying stuff and leaving it in the bag and hanging the bag on a nail on the wall for later and forgetting about what was in the bag too. LOL
Jerry, look on the positive side...by buying the same items a second or third time, you are helping your suppliers stay afloat during these tough econonic times.
True....and in the good economic times I wont have to spend money on the 'extras' I bought already, which means more money for trains!!!! Yeaaaaa!
Thanks J. I am hoping the ez line comes this weekend. I got alot going on this weekend but am hoping to get some modeling done too.
While cleaning up and organizing I found a unopened bag of rust colored EZ Line. I could have been stringing wire already!! LOL Well.....maybe tomorrow. I will be using the black/charcoal colored EZ Line, which is what I ordered, but one or two rust colored lines might make a nice variation.
I have no idea what they used then or more presently before removing them. Most of the photos I have or seen are black and white so that dont help. LOL My memory always seems to see them in black, but that could just be because its a common color too. (And I guess a 'safe' one.)
