Got more indoor painting done. One of the houses for Glen Frazer is done, and more parts for the corner industry done.:) Was in there today and I think some of the sealing work has paid off with one minor setback. It smelled like something died in there! I think maybe something got trapped between the walls with no way out. I opened everything up to air it out and will check tomorrow. Always something....LOL

Think of it as the prototypical odor coming off the Delta on those off days in summer when it seems the air wafts west from Stockton & Sacramento ;)

Ugh. We had that issue within our shared wall with the unit our front of ours. I couldn't figure out how they were getting in that far into the building, and then not finding a way out. After five years, I finally had enough, and tore part of the wall out. The builder never put a top plate on part of the stud wall, and mice were getting in through the ceiling, and falling eight feet to their demise in a pile of 50+ of their dead relatives. It was a disgusting mess. And that was without the stench!

For us, it was Starlings in an attic. They ripped out a metal mesh screen and got into. What a racket. I replaced with a louvered covering which apparently trapped a couple inside. Oh well. Sniff- Ugh...

It doesn't sound like we are having a whole lot of fun modeling . Old adage says, "When it rains it pours". Now I've heard the expression, "It's raining cat's and dog's", but mice? Jerry, Hoping things settle down for you and you are able to get back to doing the things you enjoy.

No rain here Jerry , just smoke from the fire in the Gila. Some days it is so think it blocks the sun somewhat. Good to stay inside and work on buildings.

Won't be too much longer and we will likely be in a similar situation here. :(

I have been painting the insulators on the NSN poles I got from Jim, and at Hobby Lobby I found a Model Masters paint called 'Clear Green' & 'Clear Blue'. After painting the insulators silver, let dry overnight, I painted them with this paint and it really looks great! When I get access to a camera I will get some pictures........mine is still broke, Kimberlys is broke, and Amber cant find hers.....geez....LOL :)

OK...not the best camera, and no 'macro' setting but everyone should get the idea and idea about this paint color. (I hope!) Will get better ones on later after I ask her how her camera is suppost to work. LOL
This is how the NSN telephone poles looked when I got them. Best looking poles I think. John Coots did some great things in N Scale.

And this is after I painted the insulators and bracing. Looking at photos of Pinole on the SP side, the one row of telephone lines I am doing only had one arm, so I removed one from a number of the poles. On the other side, and actually in the Ocean, was a row of telephone poles with 6 arms! They were removed some time ago, but I may make a few and have them in the water just because I think it will look cool. :) But I dont want to do the whole row as that will take up ALOT of arms! LOL (Might change my mind if Keith ends up producing these again.) Until then....I have to be somewhat stingy with them as I only have so many.

That photo does not do the paint justice. It is very shiny/glossy and really looks like glass.

Most of the poles finished. Still need to stain over some of the places I scrapped the poles to remove glue when I took the 'extra' arms off.
