It was taken before the challenge started. See Colonel's post above.

And Hemi, I think that's a subway or similar light rail signal.

Was just thinking about maybe a contest just like this one with the recent shots, but only with older/fallen flag shots. The same topics could be used. Loads, signals, etc.
But I don't know how many would participate in such a contest.

What a bunch of "rounding errors" we are.

EDIT: Nevermind...noticed mention on the last challenge about voting for multiples. Didn't pay attention on my voting I guess...kinda stinks because there were two that I was wavering back and forth on. Oh well.

BTW, I like the idea of the fallen flags. I'm assuming you mean basically the same format (new photo taken within the 72 hours) but the subject has to include a FF loco, rolling stock, etc.... correct? I saw a nice clean Frisco covered hopper the other day that I want to try to get a shot of. (it was kinda hidden) Also some decent Cotton Belt locos around still. Good stuff...this is like turning railfanning into a sport. I LIKE it.

    Shaun,
Welive just outside of Martinsville off the old PRR Vandailla line and the wife works in Casey. We also get over to Greenup some too.
You still never know what you'll see, mostly CSX and UP power, plus a bit of everthing else running the rails.
I know where you live, but it's been a good while since been up that way.

Yep thats the basic idea, but mainly with photos taken when the railroad was still in service. But yeah, a recent pic of a fallen flag loco or car sounds good to.

    Thom,

Let me get this straight the challenge would be to post a pic of a fallen flags subject, the photo would not be recent but one taken at the time??

    Colonel,
    sounds like two different contest
First old photos of when the Fallen flag was in service for those members with photos older then me,
Second new photos of fallen flags taken today of equipment still in service.

yes, like... "heres a pic of a flatcar carrying pipe on a SP train in 1980" etc, this pic could be in a "loads" contest. It could be just like the contest now, just with old pics.
I kinda want to get our fallen flag pics shown more to maybe spark some more interest in the fallen flag section of the board.
