Wow, Paul, you definitely do not want to stand on top of an excess-height car in that district! Thanks, Doug, there is a great reason this is the Big Sky State!
OK here is my entry One with a swish and one with out and then there is the CSX nosing into the photo. What you don't see is the UP running behind the CSX. This is a road crossing on the west edge of Chadwick Illinois on the BNSF main line. Some call it the C&I, a name from way back.
Don't forget that we also have a topic "Gimmie a SIGNAL!" where you can post all your shots as well after this contest is over. :lightbulb: :lightbulb: :lightbulb: :lightbulb:
Great photos posted so far I did get lucky yesterday and got some photos before the wind and rain set in for the day. This was the best I think, CSX #5224 at a crossing [S. Main] in down town Casey, IL. Been trying to catch one there for a year or so. inch
After I locate the cable that connects camera to computer, I'll upload my entry for this week. And after I get some much needed sleep! Just after 7:20PM, and I've been going since 8:30PM LAST night!
I haven't been here for a while so I only discovered this thread earlier today. Here is what I could muster up in that short time frame: Russ
Keep 'em coming! Just wanted to bump this up as a reminder for the group to grab your camera this afternoon/evening and try to get an entry in!
Signal Pic Feb. 20, 2007, A GEVO 70M GEVO 70M consist leading that stacker past dual red signals at the crossovers west of Ogden, Iowa. R.S.
Nice catch. The only dual signals by me were to far to drive in the freezing rain and snow we were having Sunday
Found close to La Salle, Co. depot Sunday. Never heard anything that said singals HAD to actually work! :teeth: So, I enter this pic.
CASEY????? Inch, what part of Ill. are you in? My parents are from the Casey/Greenup area. Spent many days sitting in the grandstand at the Cumberland Co. Fairgrounds watching the parade on that route back in the old PC/CR days when it was still a double track . Never knew what you would see in those days
sorry SD40 I was unable to include this photo in the challenge as it was taken before the challenge date. I do think its a great shot though.
Every one vote now 6 votes over night and already we have a leader pulling out front. But then we need more voters so keep those votes coming in. There is some great photos here its tough to pick.
