New paint on a pair of SD45's, coming to a Rail Images album near you soon! A new SD50 just arrived on the property, with 2 more in the paint shop. I installed a MARS lite casting in the nose and a Clinchfield-style bell on the long hood, to give it the extra prototype kick.
While not Aspen Gold by any means it IS Rio Grande. This is an old MDC car I picked up, stripped the paint off of and decaled for D&RGW and weathered. Athearn has already announced this paint scheme but are selling them in five packs. I only needed one so I decorated it myself. The coal load is Highball N scale coal glued onto a sheet of styrene fitted 4/5 the way up the inside of the car. Erik W

Yes indeed, one of 23, in fact. D&RGW only painted 23 Geep 40's in that scheme, compared to the 80-plus other Geep 40's in standard Aspen Gold. Great stuff, Chad! Erik, nice work as always. I can just picture a long string of them behind a brace of covered wagons grinding up Soldier Summit...

A few bits of Gold from me...... Atlas SD50 with horn moved to the long hood, sunshades and some light weathering. Kato SD45 custom painted by me, plow and sunshades added. LL GP60 with plow, ditchlights, sunshades aerial stand, aircon unit and flasher light added. Horn moved to long hood. Atlas GP40-2 custom painted by me, plow and sunshades added.
