Just received two of the latest run of Fox Valley Milw cabeese with the oil stove modification. Also picked up another Trainworx Rock Island gondola along with a couple of pipe loads for the gons from a new outfit called Proto-loads.

Just received an Atlas HLCX GP-38; my 5yr. old grandson ( chief engineer and CEO of our layout ) will get a kick out of it as it's a dead ringer for loco we watched switching cars in South Hutch a while back...... :)

I had such good luck with the last two $7.50 "FA2s" I had purchased from an unnamed online retailer that I ordered two more... they arrived yesterday but I didn't have a good chance to inspect them until today. I received a really nice SP&S with literally nothing wrong; no paint chips, no broken parts, runs quiet/like a dream. The second was a Great Northern that had so many issues that it has already been sent to the scrapper for its components. The shell was damaged, the horns were missing, it rattled but didn't move, etc.. Here is the SP&S for your enjoyment, I think this will be added to my lease fleet... it looks and runs too nice to scrap.

I picked up a Kato GS-4 a while back. Very nice. Seems to run very well, but I have only tried it on my test track. It is too large for my layout.

Depending on the extent of the shell damage, it might be worthwhile to look into installing a modified Atlas RS-11 chassis to give it new life.

It was minor, the lower lip of the pilot was split (and had been glued already) and as I mentioned, the horns were missing. I might fix it and repaint it for my free-lanced road but I mainly model B&M... no FA2s there. Right now I am using an Alco Demonstrator FA2 as a lease unit for my free-lanced... who knows. I have quite a few FA2s right now so the GN isn't a priority and I originally bought it because I want the chassis components for a project.

At the Bedford N Scale Weekend there was a vender selling new Kato locomotives fo $50.00. I wasn't in the market for any as they were too new for my time period but he sold out Friday night before the show opened. I am told that two guys spent over $1,000. Usually there aregooddeals to be had at Bedford. Two years ago I bought two undecorated Atlas GP7's
for $45.00 each and two undecorated LifeLike switchers for $25.00 each. Also got a couple of the Bachmann car shops buildings which were just $4.00 each. This year the same vender had them for $14.00

I picked up one of these Hobbytrain Railjet sets. It runs nice and I really like the looks of it.

Very cool but I have to draw the line at my locomotives playing violin music! LOL

Sound and DCC and Rapido couplers????? I guess some technology doesn't progress as fast as others.

It might tickle your fancy to know that Mehano still makes N scale and it also still comes with Rapidos... I would guess that Rapidos are the "invented here" coupler solution in Europe so they are happy to stick with it.
