Got to say I am one lucky guy. My wife surprised me today for our 6th adversary with a bunch of kato track and a 40s Canadian Pacific pullman coach car for the excursion train I am going to run on my layout. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Lucky indeed! I put a bug in my wife's ear every year around the holidays and she is still afraid she won't know what to buy. Eh some day...
She surprised me. She snooped my scarm track plan, ran the parts list feature and took it to a hobby shop. Mike thanks for the wishes and yes she is a keeper. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4 Beta
My 3700 Class Athearn Challenger came in last week. I'll pick it up later today! That's five so far. Cheerio! Bob Gilmore
Just received ANOTHER Atlas C628 in PC, and the Brown Wheels I had forgot on my previous M/T order. Took a couple days off from the trains to chase World of Outaws Sprint Cars !!!
Still waiting for my E6 AB units from BLI via Wig Wag.. My wife wanted to know where the ABA lash up was for the UP pax train she helped me buy . I understand the owner of Wig Wag was needing surgery ? Their web site says they are closed all this week for the 4th .... and I still do not have my E6's and according to the web site the engines have been in the stores since May ... Anyone else order from them ?
I received an Athearn Challenger from them on Saturday... and... today I received 6 Rio Grande flat cars (Trainworx).
PRR HH-1 2-8-8-2 Mallet, Kato SP Daylight 10 car set, Kato Amtrak Superliner Phase IV Set B, and Kato Superliner Phase IVb Set B. For now, looking to pick up a few other "project locos"
Picked up my 1st Challenger, Need to add a tender pickup kit from Richmond Controls and a DCC chip and its good to go.
I'm pretty picky with the rolling stock I purchase according to era and prototype so it's been a little slow lately, but I just received the new Trainworx Thrall gondola in Rock Island and the new Atlas PS-1's in Erie and Western Pacfic. That Trainworx gondola is superb, wish I had snagged a couple more. I need more gons and I wish we could get a few more models correct for us 60's - 70's era folks. Bob
P42 Genesis Amtrak Heritage Phase III AMTK 145. It's not the first heritage engine I've seen. Working near Union station in DC, I have seen almost all of the Amtrak Heritage units. However, being the sentimental type, I saw this one with my wife, and tried to explain to her the significance. Also, I actually saw this one on the mainline, as opposed to the station, which was cool, and it kinda fits into my layout I'm working on. It was pulling the Carolinian, heading to DC from NC. I caught it near Woodbridge, VA. Only had four or five coaches on it. Also purchased some woodland scenics 1/2" risers.
OK, I got MOST of my cussin' done, but have GF standing by to censor this. Just received Red Caboose Coil Car in Ohio Central. Beautiful car !!! This "seller", instead of including the jewel case, wrapped it in bubble wrap and stuffed it in a "tan" envelope !!! People that do this should be kicked in the head. TWICE !!! Some sellers are good enough to inform you of no case, or even a damaged case. That's cool, at least you know ahead of time. Somehow, this "new" thing arrived with no broken pieces. I wrote the "seller's" name down (along with 2 other "sellers" that have done this !!!) with a red "magic" marker. Won't buy from them again !!! OK, I think I'm done. I also picked up 2 gallons of bug spray. I'm gonna' grab a beer, go outside, and kill things. I'm definitely in the mood for it !!! BTW, all words in quotations are the words that were sensored by GF !!! :rats::rats:
The Athearn Challenger (Clinchfield, single stack) that will get converted to a D&H. I'm REALLY impressed with this loco. It's my first "sound equipped" locomotive that I bought so the grandkids could enjoy tooting the horn and ringing the bell
