Nice, Russell. GP30, too. I took this one yesterday in Selma (eastern North Carolina, USA). Seems like NS is running one Conrail repaint to the coast at least once a day.
Northbound NS freight on the Atlanta District coming out of the trees between the cemetery & the Ocmulgee River.
Even in winter, the trees can get in the way. Witness these next shots: EconoRail SW900 7225, the Con Agra flour mill switcher in Sherman, TX RMPX SW1500 2487 at the TNER/DGNO depot in Sherman (the chain-link fence didn't help any) TNER GP9 25, still there in Sherman today (it's an ex-NP Geep) New England Central GP38 3859 (dirty stinking *%$#@! dumpster......)
Freakin Pole! Man, the perfect shot and &*_(**&^ pole! Expect to see a few pics from this bridge. I'm going to get out there during the busy period of the day with a tripod.
I should declare my shots "My Style" I am sooo good at them. I mean, why not: Grey Ones: Blocked Shot Style Here's more: From an overpass near my place: Through the parking lot and over the fence: I like this cropped version:
Steve, that's a great catch. I have to admit that the Acela looked like just another parked car or truck until I looked at the cropped version....:embarassed:
Here ya go Grey One, a BNSF stack train dodging some palm trees: Probably not a lot of palms in Boston!
I have to admit that it was a chance shot. I was just walking by that day. It is better to be lucky than good, or so I have heard.
Steve - Interesting shot. The eye tries to move the trees out of the way. Flash - yes, "A person makes their own luck". You were in the right place at the right time _and_ prepared.
From the Window of My Study The Northeast Corridor between Boston and Providence runs 100 feet from my window: AEM - 7 Leads an Amtrak semi-local [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3WY2v65yOQ"]YouTube - Trains Through the Trees[/ame] Commuter rail into Boston [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMF6JtL4qWY"]YouTube - Trains Through the Trees at Dusk[/ame] Both are less than 15 seconds.
