Maybe not quite the same......... A 1965 or 68 Burlington RBL insulated boxcar, being delivered to the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Red Rock - Love it. There is something to be said for that shot that ya just had to take even knowing how it might look. I changed the name of the thread.
Yes. This was made about half-way through the ride, where we made a stop for all of to have lunch. </font>[/QUOTE]I hate that you came this close to me and did not contact me!
Sorry about that. I don't know the geography of NC that well, but isn't Raleigh on the opposite end on the state from Ashville? We must have passed through Raleigh, however, on Amtrak, sometime in the wee hours of the night.
A silly thought, as I first saw this picture. Looked like a modern Atlantic Coast Line engine! Yes. I know it's not.... Boxcab E50

Oh, and this is also the direct rought between Boston and Providence and 3 other areas south of Boston.
Steve, nice location and photos. I was envying you having such quiet neighbors, i.e. NEC under wire, then I saw the T's F40 and thought "OOPS, there's always gotta be one noisy neighbor who'll disrupt the party." mg: :teeth:
Acutaly it is the Amtrak "Regional" hauled by some double ended electric loco that shakes the ground _and_ the the air displacement shakes the building. In good weather conversation has to stop as the F40PHs pass if the windows are open. Over all Rrrr and I like them. There is something reasuring about the passage. Something comfortable.
Hemi - the issue with your picture is that it is too "busy". What do you think of this: I can see that in just the right place on a wall.
