TrainCat was producing signal kits, devoid of lighting. The lighting modules were coming from another firm. The items for sale that were at the show, was basically his entire stock, and it was going fast. As far as I was told by Bob, there will be no further production of anything, he is working 18 hours a day and longer as a "full time caregiver" to certain members of his family. Out of respect to him and his family, I will not provide any further details, but everyone who visited his booth at the show was given the same general information, level of detail depending on how long one cared to speak with him outside of model railroading.

    Regards,
    Bill

I feel real bad for Bob, he was always a pleasure to chat with online. the medical issues with his wife and son are each hard and to have both, I hope he maintains his sanity.

I did not have any spare money when he announced the end of his current line, I really wish that I got his SP Cabeese...

I have looked at these and may be in the market for some in the future when I get around to signalling (or even building my ATSF layout) but at the moment am looking at making three aspect colour light signals for a Japanese layout. I would expect that after being featured in a Model Railroader article there would be a few out there looking for the Traincat kits.

    Hi All,

A lot has been going on and as many of you know, it had been too much for the last year to keep TrainCat open while dealing with my Son's and Wife's situations. I thought I was going to be able to restart everything in Feb, but my wife found out the cancer was back and we were dealt with another obstacle. To all of you that sent words of encouragement and did not get a reply, I did get them but was overwhelmed in keeping things going at home. I am sorry for not replying, but I can tell you in no uncertain terms that your messages helped. Thank you!

My son is OK now and will be moving on starting his adult life at the end of the month. My wife and I are dealing with her issues and by no means is it smooth sailing. The good thing is that with her in a better place, I am in a better place mentally were I can handle things at work, home and TrainCat too.

I will be trying to get things back in order and start shipping some open orders to dealers such as Fifer Hobbies and Integrated Signals. There is a lot of new items coming out, some I have been sneak peeking over in RailWire. I have stared updating my site so keep watching.

Bob, this is all good news!

Thanks for coming over and taking a look at my modules in Atlanta (The N-Scale Refinery ones). I am so sorry that I wasn't there to thank you again in person for offering those great kits that absolutely make the scene.

    Hi Bob

Glad to hear about your son! Good news there!

I am very hopeful your wife's situation will work out as well. There is always time to get TrainCat going again. The products speak for themselves. So just focus on your family, and we will be here for you when you are ready to get TrainCattin again!

Take care of your wife, and do not forget to take care of yourself too!
