So same thing with Gorilla Glue too? It's also a CA that needs to be stored in the freezer? I ONLY need the Purple CA when working with small parts on my airplane plastic kits, or some of the think 3D printed stuff. Not often at all. Does it need to stand straight up in the freezer? Only reason I was going to put in in sandwich bag is Smell that I have not noticed and IF it spilled for some reason, don't want it to touch freezer food :)

What a great tip, never heard of this, thanks! Like I said, I rarely use it TBH. Freezer it is when I get a NEW bottle.

I have enough of different bottles that it fills the soup container so by default they stand up. I would not store it lying down in case it leaks. That's also why I keep it in the container in case anything happens. You don't want that stuff gluing things to your freeezer. :D

If Gorilla Glue CA is truly CA then yes, you can put it in the freezer. All my CA are hobby grade; Zap, BSI, Jet, Tower, etc.

I've always kept my in the fridge when not in use but never realized I could put it in the freezer.

I use the Gorilla glue CA myself most of the time. I put it in a little holder and store it cap facing down. Haven't had one leak yet but maybe I've been lucky.

I think it will be fine. I like your "backup" container in case the cap leaks.

BTW, you have a lot of space in your freezer! Not mine!

Yeah, it's a 2 fer. One to hold the bottle and the other protects in case of a leak.

That's the extra freezer, it's often much more full than that :D

I have to buy a NEW bottle so I can try this :) Just have to decide if online or take another trip to the local hobby shop? I do want that Evergreen sidewalk sheet they had. Knew I should have bought it when I was there last time :) @BNSF FAN for some reason I was checking out your Cut Beans :) At least I think that is what they are :) Time for a Show Us Your CA Glue in the Freezer thread :)

Yep, cut green beans. I'm not a huge fan but unfortunately, I eat a lot of them. I'm all for a Glue in the freezer tread! :D

It's a bag of frozen chicken. Yet another item I eat way more often than I'd like.

Limited/healthy eating leads to very limited choices my friends and even worse, it's more expensive to eat good and that cuts into the model train budget. :censored:

On a more serious note, since we are talking glue with in2tech here. In addition to storage, what other recommendations do folks have on brands and types?

Here is my actual bottle of CA that went bad. Have to replace it. When I opened up the baggie it was a bit wet, what gives? Have to throw this away, but was wondering? When I bought this at the local hobby shop there was a thinner type and they said NO cause it was like TOO thin and would be a BIG mess.

Looks fine on iPhone but not here. Too lazy to flip it :) Click to Enlarge it!

Good advice from your LHS about the Thin.

Looks like a private labeled BSI (Bob Smith Industries) brand, which is a good brand. It's Medium viscosity which is good for all around tasks. The Thin variety is less useful and it's viscosity is less than water so it gets everywhere when you use it.

I use Thin but for VERY specific applications and with special applicators.

As for the wetness, ditch the zip lock and just leave it in a container.

OK, CA is very hygroscopic, which simply means it attracts moisture. This is why you can use plain water as a crude accelerant. Most freezers have very low humidity, which is why CA can last longer in a freezer.

I'm just gonna get rid of it and buy a NEW bottle. You notice it says GAP Filler or something on the bottle. What they told me to get at the hobby shop. Yeah it's probably the exact same as BSI, just with the Hobby Shops name on it.

I ordered the ONLY N Scale small kit he sells at this time and should be here Friday or so. I keep watching his video of him assembling and painting the HO large warehouse and amazed at the detail on these laser cut kits he makes . Look at the edges where the bricks wrap around, totally cool.

Think he said it takes him a week to paint depending on kit as he paints each brick one at a time :) Think goodness mine is N Scale :) Took me about two days to paint the bricks on the Walther's Modern Dairy Queen, just the front bricks. But it looks awesome.

Late Night Model Railroad on YouTube!

Thanks for sharing about this kit. If I had a place to put it, I think I'd give that one N scale kit a chance. As it it, I'll watch how your experience with it goes and then decide. :D

Alright you people that know how to paint. How did he paint this to make it look like the mortar is white or light color? Should I prime it with grey, and I really have trouble with White even with an airbrush, and then I guess he did his makeup sponge thingy, and then the bricks individually?

Any ideas before I get mine this week. Although it might be a bit before I actually paint and assemble it. Any help appreciated. I think I will paint mine a different color though. He also sends a Test piece for brick, etc... At least in the HO kit, would imagine N kits will get it too? N kit does come with a Test Plate.

How you make the signs in N Scale like he did above on the HO one? They look so real.

Hope he does some more N Scale kits in the future, at least another one for now :)

Well, I'm no expert, but one way I've done it in the past is to grout the bricks with drywall compound. See my passenger station I did a while back here... Sputtering start to a new layout

It's nice and forgiving. There are other methods using only paint, but have not tried them yet. Actually the passenger station is the only brick building I ever painted.

I wonder how that drywall compound method will work on a laser cut structure. I guess the wood would need to be sealed really god first?

Well, you need to have painted first, so the wood should already be sealed. Can even give a light coat of varnish beforehand as well.
