The Silver Valley RR has got a new engine, Blackstone C-19: I have still to weather this engine. Wolfgang
Very nice! How do you like the performance of the new locomotive? Also, are you running DC or DCC? Thanks, Andy Tetsu Uma
For now I run it out of the box, DCC. Later I will change some CVs. More slow running. But I like it as it is - for now. Blackstone did a good job. Wolfgang
The Dudler Scenic Rail Excursions had used the new C-19 and run an excursion train for railroad fans from Fiddletown to Silver Creek. Turning at the wye in Silver Creek and back to Fiddletown. Arriving at Silver Creek: Pushing back into the wye tail track:
Spectacular work, Wolfgang! If this is what you can do, you're welcome to come do even a lousy job on my layout. :tb-tongue:
That C-19 is looking nice! The weathering is just right, not too light or too heavy. And it has a great layout to run on, too!
Big pond, schmig pond! I've found my way to Germany before (well, the clubs paid for our band to go on tour there... strange how our tour had so many stops near railroads), it's only fair that you head over here. Seriously though, I really like how the excursion train came out. My son was just talking about modeling one (now he wants to get a Southern Ry. Mikado, number it 4501 and grab some SR passenger cars so we "can do it right").
Excursion train Wolfgang, The excursion looks like fun, I wish I could have been on it. Did any of the rail fans get some run-by video??? Would love to see it!! Thank you for showing how the REAL modellers do it!!:thumbs_up:
Here you see the Silver Valley RR - the route from module to module - ready for the next FREMO meeting in Wehmingen. 'Wolfgang
Report! Until now I've built most turnouts for Esperanza and staging yard. These are over 15 and a crossing. Nearly all turnouts are dual gauge ones. Seven dual gauge turnouts are left to build for staging yard. The wood for the benchwork is cut and waits for assembling. And this is my latest HowTo for building turnouts. But until mid January, FREMO meeting in Unna, the Silver Valley RR will have a reminiscence in this room. I can buid turnouts, run trains - and take pictures. Only one revenue (lumber) load. Don't tell management, or they'll put the line up for abandonment. Nice video!
It took me a while to dig this one out, but I am so glad that I did! This is inspirational! I love the modular design, the planning and execution of it. When it's compact, you can actually call this a 'backpack layout'. Excellent work...
The Silver Valley RR has had it's last run. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?140377-Last-Run-at-Silver-Valley-RR+ Wolfgang
