Received my two and they are beautiful. Only problem is one was missing it's brakewheel, so it's contact time at Microtrains for a replacement. And I already tore that one apart for detailing and weathering. Sacriledge, maybe?

I was all set to take pictures on the layout, of today's new arrival. Heard the mailman making the day's delivery, went out to the mailbox, and no box from Charlie. :uhoh:

Came in, and looked at USPS tracker! Oh no! Was mis-shipped from local distribution center to Oakland last night! So has now been forwarded.
    This could be interesting

Made its way down to TX in my world. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363050400.737615.jpg

My plan is to bring it up to 1976. Will be my first such project of that kind.

Dumb question-how does one remove the body from the floor while keeping both intact?

And for the roofwalk, I presume gentle leverage at the pins pulls it out?

Got my Trainboard car today.....outstanding model! Thanks Charlie! It was immediately put to work, seen here departing Glen Frazer siding on a Santa Fe freight train heading to Richmond.

I'm surprised by the several who have already dismantled their cars! It will be interesting to see what is done with weathering, etc.

    Nice shots, guys.
As far as disassembling a Micro-trains car, I just insert an X-Acto knife blade between the car body end and floor. A little gentle prying along with spreading the car body sides and the under frame will pop out.
The roof walk removal is then simply pushing up on the pins from inside the body. Nothing is glued so it comes apart easily.

Lost track of the train for a while, but then saw it headed past the big yard

where it was next spotted heading into the city. Here the folks in the park and at The Caboose see a rarely seen car

And, as dusk descends, spotted along the mains heading out of Cherylton

Was parked for a short bit, and pulled out as the city lights came on
