Requests for future MTL products Thank you for soliciting requests. I'm disappointed that to date, among the different n scale forums, no one has asked for more releases of your 066 00 000 series 3-dome tankcars. Not a fan of your packaging of the runner 4-packs, but would love to see black painted, data only 3 dome tankcars packaged in lots of 4, 5 or 6 cars. Would also buy multiple reporting numbers of 3 dome tankcars decorated in any chemical company markings. (and/or petroleum refiners) Thanks again, best wishes.
I am glad to see that there are others interested in 19th century rolling stock. I could really use the gondola hoppers as others have mentioned. These could be built generic enough to cover many different roads and the frame could be used by scratchbuilders to make other cars. Eric
I have already chimed in on the TankTrain tankers (I want them) I also have a thought of somethin that all of MTL's major competitors have that MTL doesn't have. A rtr plastic semi tractor for use with their trailers. My vote would be for a Peterbilt tractor.
Same here. Furthermore, since MT also deals with Z scale, a Nn2 K-27 would make it very easy to ADD Z to my possibilities! I'll need Z scale track for my K-27. So heck, I might as well go ahead and build that Z-bend module that I've always thought about, but never had a true reason to. Then, once I have that Z-bend module, I might as well pick up some Z scale equipment of my own to run... See, a Nn3 K-27 is more than a great item to offer. It's a marketing promotion for Z scale all in itself!
A K-27 would be a big seller but I'd prefer something that didn't yell out 'Rio Grande' like a stock Baldwin locomotive or even an EBT 2-8-2.
Oh pleez, give us a K-27, do YELL RIO GRANDE... We have these great Nn3 cars and these cheesy little engines to go with them...
Normally, I would agree with you, but this is the K-27, one of my favorite steam locomotives anywhere. I understand the general feeling the Rio Grande has been done to death. It's kind of like how it can be difficult to find info on logging operations on the west coast OTHER than West Side Lumber Co. A few years back at the Pacific Model Loggers' Congress was joking about how there would soon be a book coming out entitled something like "West Side Lumber Co. Details Vol. 11: Oiling Cans, Wheel Chocks, and Fire Buckets." Someone took him seriously and he later got an email asking about the publisher and when it was going to be released.
I'd go for that one too! It's been decades since the last time Micro-Trains produced an Nn3 engine to head-up the Nn3 rolling stock.

Since we are wishing, i third the southern waffle cars. How about the Southern radio slave cars? I know they are road specific but we are wishing right? Some late 60s vintage tank cars. And another vote for the Southern tobacco car. Some runner packs of 40 and 50 ft boxcars with roofwalks removed but the mounting points and stuff still in evidence. Just be sure to run Southern if u do please.
I agree with Mike and JD, go MT ! I know this may be too specialized but Chevron, Amoco, and many other hazmat shippers had training cars such as these in the following pictures. The original version was placed into service training employees and was available to any hazmat shipper that needed training for their tankcar loaders/unloaders. I have gone to training sessions put on by the Pueblo Colorado Training Center with this car. This original car had air conditioner mounted on "A" end of car. Entry into the displays inside of tank was through one of the topside domes. The revisions removed the AC unit and added a door to the "A" end of car. I know the Chevron and Amoco cars were built by Rescar. Chevron would probably not grant permission but Amoco most likel would. I do know that some manufacturer made the original version in brass (HO scale) as I was given one when I retired. It is very detailed. Carl
I love the MTL heavyweights and I'll be buying the observation car, is there any chance of doing any coaches? I'm sure the North east modelers would buy a Pennsy P70 coach in droves.
