What about special runs done for the convention? Not the ones that were being sold prior to the convention. It looks like a few are already on eBay.
One year, they should have a special run car made available only to those who can't get away to the convention. Let the attendees have to scramble to get hold of one, for a change.
I really have not paid much attention to the special runs. I know there is a flat car with the Roanoke Star on it and a bunch of coiled steel cars. I did pick up a special run MT heavyweight business car that Lowell Smith had run for the convention. There is also a three pack of special passenger cars done in honor of Jim Fitzgerald and the other founder of NTRAK. And of course there will be the mystery banquet car that they will hand out tonight.
And what a great tour we had! Russel drove us around Roanoke, showed us great railfanning sites, we did a tour of the Virginia Transportation Museum and went to a cool Burger Restaurant!! It is good to be here, meet friends and buy more stuff! Cheers Dirk
I should have found a way to go. I used to spend my summers south on US 220 down around Bassett VA. Those days are why I also have a deep seeded fondness for Southern and Norfolk Southern (the original line), and I had a moderate sized layout serving the Fieldcrest mills, Basset furniture factories and the Dupont plant (now shuttered) in Martinsburg. The Southern Green Light for Innovation, N&W and NS was all around.
Wish I could have made it this year. Not a bad drive from here in Virginia Beach. Chose to fish in the 10th Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament instead. 13 hours off shore yesterday and no tuna caught. Did get several dolphin though.
Holy cow. That is one huge circus! T-Trak certainly has leaped onward in how people create scenes upon their module bases.
