That is funny , out here we usually have wind and I never forget about that when a train goes by !!! LOL Mike
Of my favorite pictures, is a brief sequence chasing the last Milwaukee Road local on their branch in old my home valley. It was foggy, cold, raining. If you look really closely, you can even see the droplet splashes in puddles. Wouldn't have missed it for anything. Didn't even notice that I was being soaked by that rain.
Pt. Pinole in California. Have never seen actions there. A lot of wind noise, but worth a look.
A dark, gray day here. Rain and snow threatening. So I thought something sunny would be nice. AT&SF 3751 in bright light!
Same here. It seemed perfect for the weather here, this Tuesday past. It sure fits again today. It's been snowing. Ground turns white, it stops and melts, then starts again. Temperature has been dropping. A sunny beach video may be what keeps the snow from accumulating!
Drooling over the steam!!!!! Thanks for the sunny memories, helped on a cold wintry day with BLOWING snow. Brrrrrr!!
As I have mentioned the Amtrak Cascades in another topic here, thought I'd see what YouTube had available. Found a lot of short clips. Then this one. The music I could do without, so killed the volume. It was obviously a damp and slightly dark day, but still some interesting sights and memories along the Seattle-Portland segment:
From 10 years ago, one of my railfan jaunts on Sherman Hill: Eastbound headed uphill thru Hermosa Tunnel. About a mile hike from where I parked my vehicle at Hermosa (up the hill from Tie Siding).
Here is some nice Montana scenery. I just wish that folks would learn to step away from their video camera, when shooting stills. The beeps and shuttering are too easily picked up.
Just barely west of the Mississippi, I snapped this photo this afternoon while working near the tracks, SD 70 ACe
Caught this thing in Miles City last weekend. Looks like a Modelers setup! Apartments and a bridge and a pasture.
Found a couple of interesting ones in Nebraska. First, at Northport:

Really neat both for the warbonnet leading and for not having a tracked vehicle in sight. The changes we've seen over the years!
What kind of unit was that? A look of vehicle which looked as though they could mount a machine gun. "Mechanized" infantry?
