Speaking of Tolland CO. Here is a WB loaded frac sand train. Now, its only 12,000 tons, but is WB on the Moffat Sub. Those SD70ACE's were shiny clean when they left DEN, just watch it, and listen to the power applied before the train actually starts to move. That is AC torture at its best, and shows why it is so popular, 5 units 12,000 tons on a 2% grade, it would have taken about twice as many units DC to do same, OH how thos ACE's dig in and pull. Dont think I was on this one. A good show, I especially like the comments from folks about the power involved, and how much some have no clue.

He dont have too much time, unless the DS has them going in to the siding at East portal too. A very hard start as well.

Wonderful display of power. Great video, thanks.
It's amazing to realize that each of those units is just an electric locomotive built on the legacy of the GG-!, each with their own electrical power plant carried on board. Also that the first commercially successful diesel-electric locomotive is almost 100 years old.

They blew all of the carbon out of those units!

Darn hard pull. Wow, they wrung those units out getting that train started on the grade. As much as they throttled up and kept it there, I was surprised they didn't pull a knuckle. Maybe the DPUs prevented that.

Now that's impressive! That lashup really accelerated those 12,000 tons once they got moving.

And with a smoke show worthy of a set of Alcos...
