A look at our coach. As we left Durango this group of horses ran beside us. Our train came to a sudden stop as the engineer laid on the steam whistle. Come to find out one of the horses had gotten out of the fence and was standing on the tracks. The horse went on to live another day and those of us on the train had yet another story to tell from this trip. A look at one of the sidings at Hermosa. Ben
Time to share a few more photos. Here we pass the yard limit marker as we enter Rockwood. I had no idea that Public Service ever had a speeder. Ben
Two fire fighting tankers were sitting at Rockwood. A view of the equipment on the other side of the coach. The train sure runs close to the mountain! Ben
A quick photo of our coach's gauges as we board the train. After spending much of the trip in an open car I found myself rather chilled. I spent most of the trip back to Durango inside the nice warm coach. I did walk to the open air coach on seoccasionsssions to capture a few more photos. Approaching the Hermosa yard. Ben
And the last shot from my trip was of a D&SNGRR employee inspecting our train as we passed through Hermosa. I hope that you all enjoyed the photos from my last outing. Ben
My son and I headed out for a quick trip to Cortez, CO last weekend. Along the way I decided to locate a few remaining water towers from the RGS days. Trout Lake Ben
