Fantastic passenger trains puddington! Its a shame the railroads dont have the pride that they used to with passenger trains now-a-days.
Newer 10-5 Grove class sleepers are making appearances too......... as are ex NYC "Dale" class 10-5's..... The signature Solarium-Sleeper-Lounge cars of the Cape series are a must ! and what trip through the Rockies would be complete without the open air haywagon...? There are currently over twenty pieces of equipment available for the "Dominion"; although they can't run together...layout won't handle that ! As you can see; I'm a passenger rail fan. The "Canadian" would be a natural but I have been holding off due to the constant rumours about Kato; True Line; Rapido...etc... maybe I'll just have to model it so someone will announce it....LOL I also model "foreign road" sleepers; these would be Pullman; UP; Espee; NYC and others - often summers found 100's of US road sleepers in the west on trips; and you could find them set off in Banff and other mountain towns on their "garden tracks"... I like adding the "touch of difference" to trains... Thanks for putting up with all these passenger posts !
I have to say that I always enjoy seeing your cars, Puddington. I have only started working on N-Scale passenger cars within the last few years, but I can appreciate all of the work you have put into your cars. I always enjoy looking at them, and they serve as inspiration for my own work. Bravo! This picture is also posted over in the E-L passenger car thread;
It's called Tuscan and there are many, many shades..... as the saying goes, "put 2 PRR and CPR fans in a room and get 183 opinions on the right shade..." LOL
Beautiful photo, mcjaco. Often model railroad photos seem a little crowded. The openness and simplicity of this scene had me saying to myself, "Hey! This is supposed to be a thread with N scale models, not real-world photos!"
Argh. I understand. It's like arguments over NP colors on their Loewy passenger schemes, or Milwaukee Road orange... Boxcab E50
Thanks Chaya. It's one of my better shots. Just wish I had noticed the sizable gap between the body and the plow. That shot would be different now, as both units are detailed and weathered.....hmmmm.
This looks just like the last B&M train I took from Boston's North Station to Ashland, NH. It was mid-August of '51, windows all open, with soot and cinders blowing all over hellangone.....loved every minute of it!!!!
Since no one has added it yet The "Most beautiful train in the World" California Zephyr and it's smaller cousin the Zephyrette The WP Museum sends it's caboose train out on the main for a run behind WP703 I realized I have a lot more passenger equipment than I thought. I haven't posted the Strasburg cars, the Overtons, or the Japanese stuff. I'll leave them for the album.
