Lets see some passenger trains. Here's a F40PH I just finished kitbashing. Its a PFM brass model I added windows to, wipers, rearview mirrors, an engineer, new decals, and gloss coat to finish it off.
First train - The CNR's classic 1954 livery "Continental" Today it's an MLW RS 18...more often than not it's a ABB set of FP7A-B's.... Head end - baggage and RPO.... Three coaches at the very least................ Duplex sleepers............. More to come..............
More "green and gold"......... The Dining car....... The buffet-bar-lounge Summer crouds means heavyweight tourist sleepers........... "Pacific" is a lounge-sleeper-observation. I have 16 cars for the "Continental......" next; The "Super Continental".....
Canadian National's "Super Continental" - Post 1961...... F unit power; note the steam generator car due to the F units not having steam gens... Head end - express baggage and a full baggage A crew dormatory - baggage car for the trans con portion of the trip. The 36 seat dining car........yummy !
First class coaches and Dayniter cars follow the head end.... "Fraiser" is an ex Milwuakee Road dome car - lounge Duplex sleepers are common on the Super Connie.............
An "I" class 24 passenger duplex sleeper - now used in "tourist" service. "Clearwater River" - one of many roomette-compartment sleepers. Kings Cove and others await a switch in the yard.... "Gaspe" is an ex Milwaukee Road sleeper - lounge car The Super Connie currently has 17 cars to choose from. Next: The Great Northern "Stampeder".....
The Great Northern's "Stampeder" is a "foobie" that runs for the three weeks of the Calgary Stampede from Seattle to Calgary, via my Puddington Valley sub... Power for the Stampeder is usually F45's in BSB.... A vintage GN express box in BSB colours... along with an ex RPO - express car hauling the bags.... Two ex CNW coaches and two ex EB coaches are used....
The Winnpeg Club lounge is used for both sleeping and bar facilities.... Crossley Lake is a ranch series club/lounge car Lake View is the great dome used for the trip "Port of Vancouver" gets the call as an Observation - Loinge. I am still building 5 sleepers for the consist, but it's coming.....
GN heavyweights are also run on the Puddington Valley.... A former troop sleepers in C&BQ colours finds it's way on to the GN consist. Express boxcar Looking a little less glamourous than during her EB days..... Standard HW coaches are used....
Pullman 12-1's 10-1-2's and 14 sections are commonly used.... A very old Cafe - Coach - Observation tails the HW consist.
Finally; we have the Canadian Pacific Dominion.... Numerous FP9 and FP 7 A's and F7B's are used.... Even C Liners have a turn now and then......................
Coaches are either 2200 series lightweights or older HW steelsides.... ....with the occasional Parlor car making a shorter part of the run into Alberta....
