Thanks guys- once again- could not have done it without the advice and comments here on Trainboard. I sent them many different versions, surprisingly, they chose a darker photo, albeit one shot from slightly above to take the one small tree out of the way. Personally, I thought the photo above conveyed a sense of fast movement and good light, but they know what they want and what they're doing and I ain't second-guessing anything, just a good happy day! Its also been a boost of energy- I have 2-dozen projects to finish and have to put final touches on the yard so I can move on to the industrial area, back to work! my best, Jan
Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Here has been my most recent project- converting a Kato Snoot SD40-2 to a regular nose CP rail scheme: Have been pretty lazy lately, hopefully I can get some work done soon! my best, Jan
very nice as usual. only the sinclair antennas are missing. do you remember the 3-dimensional etched ones from sunrise ? let me know if you need some...
Sandro- good catch, looks as though I missed the winter hatch and rotating light as well, got some work to do! I have a stack of the miniatures by Eric Sinclairs so I just have to drill it in. Thanks for the offer and lets see how long it takes me to get this one done!! my best, Jan
A CP SD40-2 with the lights between the number boards! I might have to make myself one of those! Jan, what color red do you use?
Karl, there are not many of them but they are out there (I've had to find em' to get some accuracy in my CP fleet!) Most came from SOO repaints or a couple MP purchases. I use Pollyscale SOO Line Red with a touch of engine black and a touch of TTX yellow added. The sunlight gave my camera a hell of a time getting the red, so the pictures are a tad off the way it really looks, which I think nails the proto photo. Now, for this advice, while you are making yourself one you will have to make me one with your usual high level of detailing!:tb-wink: my best, Jan
Jan, We may have to work out some sort of deal in the future! :tb-biggrin: Looking forward to seeing more of your progress! Karl
Sandro, I also highly recommend the modelflex SOO line red, it is most likely the best match, but its hard to find in my locale so I switched to the poyscale (which is easy to find here) but if you can get it easily it is excellent color. Most of my early CP custom work was done with the Badger, all the more recent stuff of the last 3-4 years was done with the Poly. my best, Jan
I finally finished my yard modules and built their storage ends and have now stored them to begin the industrial area module detailing and upgrades. Before storage, I took some photos today:
More shots: Now I am ready to start upgrading my urban modules to winter and doing some detailing, these will represent Philadelphia on my layout and form the area for ops sessions to and from the yard. my best, Jan
Lookin good jan, I like the small details you have around the yard like the acetelyne tanks by the locomotive shops
It all looks great. The last 2 shots with the snow is sooo coool. Especially the one with the loco heading toward the cameras left.
