Only $6,123.00. "as is,no refunds, no sniveling." Gotta love that. But only for the tender. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHESSIE-STE...253444?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item33836c6e04
Dang I have a Concor centipede tender shell and a batch of older Rivarrossi tenders plus a Demi Trains Vandy. Hmm if he gets that price imagine what I could get.
Here is another one from the same seller. http://tinyurl.com/ldlwr7n This looks like a real piece of junk. Keep in mind that this seller is from Colorado. They recently legalized marijuana. Think he smoking something?
Well it is first of all not N but Nn3 unless someone managed to regauge the truck on the Z scale F7 mechanism to N gauge which may be why it doesn't run worth a crap. Work might have been done with the Mommas and Papas singing in the background and smoke of a different flavor and odor wafted thru the air.
Is that thing made of gold with a diamond as the weight? holy smokes, that's almost as bad as a guy who had 35-50 MTL cars of various types including piggyback flat that were missing their trailers. he wanted $1500 for the whole thing.
John: Republic Loco Works has a Shay kit using the MT F-7 chassis. They have/may still offer a built-up version done by Tom Knapp. Sold for over $600 as I recall. Tom K. does excellent work... Both kit and built-up were/are available in either N or Nn3, and RLW sells/sold the F-7 mech re-fitted to N standard gauge. I'm guessing this may be one of these in poor condition... (obviously I'm not "current" on what they still have...) JimR.
Took a look and you are right they do still offer a F-7 mechanism gauged to N scale that I had completely forgot about. However if I recollect the side gearing is non functional on these.
I built one of these in the early 1990's in Nn3....was not that bad of a kit, and yes, it does not turn
John: I've been having trouble with my eyes(waiting for cataract surgery),so I didn't look at all the photos the first time. Just did, and one of the "underside" does indeed show the RLW ID plate complete with serial number and indicates it is one of Tom Knapp's "built-ups" for them. So this was once a well made, expensive piece of equipment. God alone knows what's happened to it since then... JimR.
It would be a cold day in XXXX when I would pay that kind of money for a tender (even if I had the money). Could it be some one fat fingered when typing the price??????
Think I will post up my new Bachmann Vandy tender for half the price.... and throw in a new 4-8-4 as a bonus to who ever buys it !
It just never stops...MT Dimi data only (meaning a brown boxcar with lettering but no road or number): $350. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MTL-020-00-...409924?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4174bce204
Microtrains 'error' car (I assume the error is that the ram was double struck on one side): $1000 opening bid or $1350 BIN http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Mic...530803?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a82cc4ef3
