As I have noted previously, I wonder how many people who might be interested in joining us, see these prices and back away thinking the hobby cannot be afforded?

I think there's something just crazy about that site. The item descriptions appear to be, ahem, copy and pasted from eBay, and there are some familiar seller names, but the prices... strange. OK, out of this world.

It does not appear that I can "Buy It Now" on a set of Intermountain F units for $1. Now that would be a deal. If anyone else can manage that... I'd like a small finder's fee ;)

Yeah, wouldn't shop at this site even if everything was a buck. not when they spell Search wrong on the search button.

Whoa. Didn't notice that my first trip there. Foreign? Or just careless/sloppy? I'm convinced, that is a place to pass by. :(

Occurs to me that maybe the site is a "Malware Deposit Center." Now I'm sorry I (1) tripped over it (2) brought it up. I didn't notice the "Serach" button either.

None of my protection apps sounded any alarms when I found the site, if that's any consolation.

On ebay you can tell who is NOT a train person by this word VINTAGE. In the n scale dictionary under vintage the definition say: early n scale locomotives that mostly run bad if at all. LOL .

Also lately I have seen some N scale listed as post war if this refers to WW2 like Lionel are not all n scale post war?

    just some random thoughts

There might have been someone who created an "N" sized item or two back then. Such would be custom made or scratch built, but nothing of the mass production market one would expect. Using that terminology says they are just taking a wild swing at grabbing some dollars.

    Nice. Keep 'em coming.

No worries, I doubt anyone here is stupid enough to click Buy it Now on a $640 intermountain loco.

The biggest turnoff for me is when I see $90 shipping for a $30 item that can be shipped in the mail for under $10 and I’ve seen so many of those lately. How could this even be legal?

Well, eBay tried to counter that by charging the Final Value Fee on the sale price PLUS the shipping in order to "discourage" this behavior, but I think the actual effect was to penalize the more honest sellers...

I've ALMOST fallen for the low price/HIGH SHIPPING bait and switch trick before. That's just what it is...you see something that you really want and before reading everything you bid only to find out that they are KILLING you on the shipping. Sellers that do this are thieves and, just like in the old days, should be hung.

Starting to see more and more (presumed) shill bidding, where the exact same item reappears a short time later by the same seller after getting outbid or seeing a watched auction end that had bids.
