Most times Ebays policies and sellers arrogances are as funny if not funnier then $300.00 for a $30.00 locomotive ;-)
Topic has been running almost six years now. During that tenure it has wandered more than a few times, but has been pretty much self-righting. As soon as someone posts up a few goofy sales offerings, it'll take off again.
And with BC's note, heres one to get us going again. Even though he's a newbie to eBay, he still gets an "F" for picture quality [or lack thereof] and a lame description. <gonnnnnng> http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Red...986058?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item27f202ac8a
Ok. I'll take a very wild stab at it, and guess this might be a coil car of some sort? I suppose they'll wonder why no bids.... Now there's something we could use! Set it up so every time someone submits a new post to this topic, the old Gong Show "bonnnnggg" is heard. Looks like Allen wins the prize for today's most original idea.
What do you mean... it says right in the description, it's a "rare train." Oops, I mean "RARE TRAIN." It is a coil car. The seller did put that in the generally useless "Item Specifics."
LOL, I missed that, normally don't bother to look at the Item Specifics as most don't bother to fill them out. But yep, there it is. I kind of figured that's what it was and it also looks like a EJ&E. BC, if we can't get the sound, how about a gong style Icon in the smiley collection?
That guy has a pile of N scale stuff, all fairly reasonably priced..Does Bachmann have an insider "let's find the dumbest model railroader" contest going with their dealers? Seems every time you see this particular track,it's priced off the scale..
This is the same guy we were talking about with the feedback. I believe this helps make my point. Even if just a typo, this is not someone I'd choose to do my business with....
From the listing: "The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (M.S.R.P) for this item is $8,100.00. " From Bachmann's website: No, it's not. http://shop.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2771
That's how I read it... one box of 50. From the listing... 50 boxes of 50 pieces each would make more sense given the price, but that's not what the listing says. Even so, I'm not sure how many buyers would want that much at one time.
With the exception of HUGE volume retailers, (an e-tailer such as Ray Cozza), almost nobody would ever buy a case of fifty boxes.
