Mike, do you use a red filter to capture those clouds in B&W? I can't remember the designation for it---O? Used to fool around with IR film as a kid.
Hey Fitz, I use the electronic version of a B&W red filter, when I edit through Picasa...sometimes I can shoot directly in B&W, using a red filter digitally with my 20D.
Here are a couple I took enroute to granddaughter's wedding, near Tonopah, NV. Highway construction resulted in one-way, pilot guided traffic. We were sitting out in the middle of nowhere watching these buildups. Maybe one of you with great photoshop skills can put a train in these two. I'm going to give it a try later, though I'm not very good at it.
I have more cloud pictures than I know what to do with. Most don't have trains in them, but I'll have to look. Here's one.
We have great clouds in NM. Not sure how or if to crop this. That's rain in the bottom center of the picture.
Sometimes the clouds make it look like the moon is going to crash into the Sandias. Not sure how any of these shots are going to show up on your monitors. My primary monitor is set up for print; my second monitor is not calibrated for print, and all of these are much darker there.
