Made this SD9 out of an RRP SD9 shell, Athearn BB frame, and Cannon & Co parts. Here it is shoving cars over the hump. It and its mate will pull 50-60 car cuts out of the receiving tracks, then shove same over the hump for classification.

Started work on a Sunshine Models Resin Kit, that should turn out to be a PRR X37b 40' Double Door Boxcar.

Kit contents shown, and I have washed all the resin parts in warm soapy water to remove the mold release compound before assembly. I have already glued one end to each side and will glued them together before adding the frame and roof components.

I always enjoy your work with these Craftsman kits Rick J. What type glue do you use for resin kits? Im thinking CA or Epoxy??

Rick J, I also enjoy resin kits but so far they've all been one piece bodies. I have one that is a four piece body but I keep putting it off. One of these days.
Tom Holley, what can I say. You're modeling and weathering always impresses and inspires me. I've never seen a model hump yard. Very cool feature. Does it work in the way a real one does with something slowing the cars down automatically?

Tom Holley: I thought it was a prototype photo. Very nice models.

I use mostly CA but sometimes GOO for large pieces, and Gap Filling CA for areas that do not meet quite correctly.

I will also be starting on one of the Rail Yards models Hot Coil Cars in the near future, that one comes with 54 pages of instructions.

I use Goo on a few thing as well, but usually I am trying to remove it, People generally use waaay to much of it, but it is the checker for gluing some things.

Have worked on the ECTR MK III Tamper a little more. The original post is #682 posted on May 25th 2014. Added decals and windows. Scratch built the A/C roof unit, strobe platform, little box lights(front and rear). I scratch built the small hydraulics boxes in the center open platform. Made the horns from a BB athearn horn(lower two) and an old Bachmann Metroliner horn(Upper one facing forwards... which I still had when I built an AMTK Cab Control Car). Using proto pics, I added some c-channel styrene under the cab with an air line. I still need to add the hydraulic hoses(24-28 at last count) and some metal hydraulic lines and metal air lines. Then the last step will be to add the target boards and number placards. Started this kit in late Jan 2014... and still not done! LOL! Enjoy! JMS

Very nice modeling and scratchbuilding. That will look great sitting on a siding with a maintenance truck parked by it.

Now onto this week, I did not complete anything this week but I did do some work on my PRR X37B Resin Kit and started on an ExactRail PS 4427 Covered Hopper Kit.

Roof has been attached to the sides and ends, and was a perfect fit. You can see the lap seam roof that the PRR used in building these cars.

The floor was a different story and was too short for the opening, so I split the diffence and glued in using Gap Filling CA on the ends. Also installed the riveted stiffeners on the main braces, installed the intermediate braces and the bolster pieces, next are the airlines and brake rigging.

ExactRail PS 4427 Covered Hopper Kit (I am sure glad that ExactRail supplies a lot of their cars in undecorated kit form). This picture shows all the parts that you get when unpacking the box. I have glued the weights into the car using Goo.

More progress including installing the bulkeads and center sill gussets. Also installed the Slack Adjuster and Brake Road. Glued the Sill Steps to the Bolsters, then quit to watch Green Bay and Minnesota.

    Thanks for looking!

    Jordan Miniatures Farm Wagon

I'm just about to finish up a Jordan Miniatures farm wagon. I modified it a bit for hauling hand hewn cross ties and I still need to paint and harness the horses.

I painted the horses tonight. I dread rigging the tack.

I like seeing these horses. Different coats, different yet very real poses.
