RFRX (Rick Franklin) gondola on spur leading to Franklin's property, Lebanon, OR. INterestingly enough, this same individual had several GE Dash-7s he leased out to area shortlines (mostly the Portland & Western).
On hoppers and high-side gondolas, that would mean a rotary coupler. I don't know of low-side gondolas being rotary dumped, so...? I know some gondolas have, or at least had, "drop ends".
Gondolas full of concrete ties for KCS to rebuild the old SP Macaroni line between Rosenberg and Victoria, Texas.
Hey Russ, If you see any physical progress on the rebuild, how about posting something, with or without photos, over on the KCS forum. It'll be a couple of months or more until we're up that way again. And we're usually just passing by on I-59 so it's hard to really see if anything is happening. Regards Ed .
Why would the sides on a gondola be raised such a short amount? I would think it would be more cost effective to make it at least a foot higher. Looks like an easy kitbash, too.
