Three of several gondolas carrying ties on a NS work train. Selma, NC, 26Mar06. The SOU gon appears to be painted green and has MW added to the reporting marks. I don't know if green was an original color or not. Nice looking pine trees there, too. :teeth: The Conrail gons are unpatched. Both a rib-side and corrugated.
I saw a slideshow of this in Denver this winter. Astounding photography and narration! Turned out the overestimated the haul, and finished in like 5 months, correct?
Old narrow guage wooden gon at Nevada County Narrow Guage RR and Tranportation Museum, Nevada City,CA:
Scrap gons Poster: Keith (see this users gallery) A set of three IAIS - Iowa Interstate scrap gons.
A ways from home, a CSX gon in Denver. Eventually kicked into its proper track. An even more impressive? find, CSUX hopper #1!! Yes indeed, the very first car! Was thinking before that, wouldn't it be neat if........
Saw this yesterday in Rosenberg. I think it must be a new railroad. Something like Sugar Land & San Felipe.:teeth:
Shot this beat-up ex-Con gon in a CSX train in Cordele, GA this spring. It's flanked on either side by newer CSX gons. This thing looks for all the world like an old swaybacked draft horse not long for the glue factory.
Steve's FEX gon reminded me of a train full of FXE gons that I saw a couple of weeks ago. Here come mid-train helpers surrounded by FXE gons full of taconite pellets. Regards Ed .
