Here is a pair of old timers I had stashed away. They were pulled by my Casey Jones steamer.

Nice! I have both of those along with a baggage car and a shorter passenger without the raised roof. Pulled by a 4-6-0 steamer. Just no layout yet. And mine are in dark brown.

Dad's photo. I actually got those the next Christmas. So Dad was already plotting the big event...;)

Gondola with my first attempt at making a junk load. The trees in the background are made from air conditioner filters and skew sticks.

This B & O hopper is from the late 1960's. It has a cast iron frame and the trucks are cast iron also. I once tried to put intermountain metal wheels on this car and is shorted out my track. The result, I had to put the plastic wheels back on it - bummer. I also have a white hopper like this one somewhere with a Holly road (I think) name. This is an old picture so I don't remember is the body is cast iron also.

A pair of special forces cars that came with the small army colored switcher I posted in Locomotive of the day a few days ago. I picked up that set at the local Salvation Army outlet store a few years ago. I have the caboose somewhere.

I painted this caboose orange and also painted a locomotive the same color. I was going to decal them - R & F RR. At this time, I can not find the locomotive. When I do find it, I will post them together.

How many cars and engines do you have? All HO?
    Thanks for showing us.

Yes, everything is HO. I don't know exactly how many cars and locomotives I have. It seems every time I turn around, I find a box with cars or locomotives in it. When I packed up everything after the flood and moved, things got misplaced. I have not shown the cars and locomotives that need repairs - there are a few of those. When I would go to train shows, I would buy cars & locomotives on the cheap and repair them as needed. Some I could repair and some were good for parts only.

I do that on occasion. I found a Bachmann H16-44 some years ago for $30 but the vendor said it didn't work. I figured the risk was acceptable and at worst, I would turn it into a dummy.

Turns out it was a poor contact caused by some overenthusiastic greasing (probably a relative of the guy who rustproofed my Dad's 1990 Trooper ). I cleaned it out, lubed only the moving parts, and it ran like a charm. I repainted it as CN 2206 (in 1950s freight colors) and it still serves today.

That's the fun of train shows - you never know what you find, and even if you don't, it's the thrill of the hunt! :)

About 7 years ago I bought two of these Reading gondolas with a gravel load. Sorry about it being off focus. I put metal wheels on it.
