If we exclude rapid transit systems [like NYC metro and other such stuff] for obvious reasons, then which rail stretch in the US would be the most active [in terms of trains going UP/DN per day]?
I didn't expect the BNSF to care for the MRL units after they split them up. But, I did not expect them to disperse them so quickly. Seemed kinda illogical. I did hear that they will be scrapping out the GP-9's soon and they are being sent to Livingston for that. Sad for me as I was involved in the electrical redesign and rebuild back in the 90's...at Livingston. On a different note, And a sad note here in my backyard,
Dang, can't hit the "Like" button on that! No longer used or needed? Wonder if it was BN or NP era built.
These were built in '97 or so by the BNSF for the new service track that is now unused, they were used for storage of maintenance supplies. One each for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and laborer supplies. They also took down two storage sheds next to the roundhouse that were used for other storage. It is sad that they have decided to not maintain anything.
Caught this interesting consist a month ago. Fun stuff, but have been busy with too much to do and not enough train time. Trying to get to more time now.
Some auto racks from today's train catch...an SP An interesting bit of vandalism.... A fallen flag, With the captor, And the new victory flag! Another fallen flag, With a different take on the Victory flag. The video premiers later today.....
Autoracks are about the only Fallen Flag cars you see roaming the rails still in volume. Some of those flats they're built on are from the late 70's!
Yeah, that was my thought, too. The signal was a flashing yellow, and they may have had an 'order' or restriction for that.
Seems like it sometimes. I do see a bunch of the 4750 rib-sided hoppers with fallen flag logo's, or the remains thereof.
Even tho modeling and foaming have been slow, the foaming hasn't stopped. Here's one from earlier last week, And a fun one from last month,
Couple of nice catches Alan but I have to ask, does catching an NS unit at night make it a dark horse?
