That same day I got to put this unit back in service after it's fresh paint job, PIC_0806.JPG PIC_0807.JPG PIC_0808.JPG And on my way home the car-knockers had this at their part of LRC to repair something or other. PIC_0809.JPG PIC_0810.JPG

An couple inside shots of LRC in Jan 95. Lots of interesting work going on here. The FNM is being overhauled, upgraded and re-cabled/re-wired. The GP9 is getting an overhaul to go to work for MRL. 6336 is getting set back up for use in EMD lease service. And the 290 is ex NYSW for MRL. PIC_0823.JPG PIC_0825.JPG
Later that month, I took a trip to Anaconda to visit the BA&P shops. Their old coaling ramp was still there, as well as diesel service in a shortline way. PIC_0824.JPG The outside of the shops, it was bitter cold that day! PIC_0826.JPG And a couple of antique cars, 8000 gal tank, PIC_0828.JPG PIC_0827.JPG Outside sat this recently repainted GP, sans batteries. PIC_0829.JPG PIC_0830.JPG PIC_0831.JPG PIC_0832.JPG

Great vintage photos, especially the MRL!

I think a smiley faced ex-NYSW 45 is a must for my roster!

The smiley mouth was even painted on nicely for a day or two, then a 'higher up' saw it in pusher service and made the roundhouse bunch paint yellow over the black! Still has a big grin!!

From the Livingston Rebuild Center shops, we had the dubious job of scrapping some GP20's and SD9's, PIC_0900.JPG PIC_0901.JPG Plus placing various units that had been in storage or traded in back into service. These CR units were disgustingly filthy everywhere upon arrival, PIC_0902.JPG A fresh repaint, the factory job was fading to pink and had other issues I don't recall, PIC_0903.JPG PIC_0904.JPG Two more U-boats to be rebuilt for NdM, PIC_0908.JPG PIC_0909.JPG

That would be at the Scoular Grain elevators, just south of Silver Bow. I stopped there a few years ago and their power was an (ex-IC?) SW13, #1309.

Those Rio Grande Geeps are really far from home! It's notable that they have no nose-mounted MARS lights--that's because they are former Conrail/PC GP40s. Nice catch!

I have this extra envelope of photo's from a friend in Livingston that went on a trip to Wyoming and Nebraska back in 94 -95. I have been puzzling over trying to remember who,..... But we can enjoy a bit of CNW coal power in it's glory days!
